very informative and clear explanation of identifying this epidemic that threatens to eat into the fabric of the game.

I see commonalities between american basketball and english soccer. both were games that featured basically no foreign players. then the worlds players started to come into these leagues. flopping/staging started to increase and the foreigners (dey took our jerbs) were blamed. of course, americans and english dont flop/dive.

Out of all of the examples only the Gallo one is questionable because Paul did lay him out pretty well and his shoulder was near his throat on impact so I don't mind that Gallo made a fair bit of the contact.

I'm being serious here. The truth is barely a flopper compared to those guys you've listed and I can't believe you haven't even mentioned the worst flopper in the league CP3. Pierce throws his arms in the air. Those guys act like they've been blasted by a pellet of shotgun bullets every time somebody goes near them.

im not biased against any of the guys mentioned in this thread. i do think pierce is at the lower end of the flopping scale. but like pregnancy, you cant be a little bit pregnant.

I think he does the same thing as Kobe to be honest. The good old "heeeeeeeeeeey" or "and one!" combined with the flail of the arms occasionally. I don't consider that flopping.
