Going home passed Punt Road most nights I look over and see the lights on in the gym and the pool and I miss the old days when you could see the players running around under lights.......you could see the mist fall.......hear the players call for the ball and just know that they were doing more than most people would be willing to do that night once hidden away in their lounge rooms.
Have our players become soft?
They hardly train in adverse conditions.
They don't train for long.
And very few play out a full game without breaks on the bench?
I miss the days when I'd look across in the dark from Brunton Avenue and there would be Roachy (Snr) practising his goalkicking.
Then again, I miss the Reserve game before the big game.
And I miss the fact that playing at Telstra so much has COMPLETELY robbed us of any home ground advantage.
