Game wouldn’t be the same without headers, cbs wouldn’t need height, game would be played more centrally causing more congested play. Maybe just ban the long balls from keeper/defence.

For professionals the only way to mitigate the effects would be for all players to wear a rubber type helmet to act as a shock absorber for the impact. Thats obviously going to be big $$$ to design / implement and not feasible at amateur level.

You simply cannot reduce or remove headers from the game of football.

So did Nice security do anything prior to that incident to stop the continual bottle throwing? Think Marseille fans were accused of doing same week before. Wannabe heroes in the crowd

Game was suspended as well despite Nice being up 1-0 idiot home fans.

You can’t, part & parcel of the sport, it’s the risk you take playing. I would only occasionally have a kick at the park with my brothers when I was younger, and we would set up corner kicks & set pieces, every time I headed the ball it ****ing killed haha, always thought how the **** do people who play head the ball so many times in a game 😂

We’ll if you headed with your Crown it kills but with your forehead, it’s no drama. I have to do it every week as a defender so I am used to it.

Fair enough with the isolation requirement upon return. It does seem rather silly that these players have to isolate for 10 days upon return from these countries when the UK already has 30k cases per day. Surely an exemption could be granted for fully vaccinated players that stay within a strict team bubble when playing for their countries.

To have Salah miss 2 PL games and a CL match when he also is away for January would have been madness.

Does that mean all PL clubs do same or will they move/postpone games? Easy for rich clubs to do.

It depends on whether the countries are in a red zone or not. Green zone needs no isolation at all. Which is all rather bizarre because most countries have less covid going around than what the UK has.

Red list:

Most of South America plus large amounts of Africa on that list. That's going to cause significant headaches for the upcoming international window.
Well yeah Liverpool saying they won’t let their Brazilian trio go yet not as easy for Leeds to deny Raphinha from leaving and deny him his long awaited possible debut. Yet we’ll be without him in our Pool clash in a couple of weeks and they get to play nearly full team. Like you said though not like UK is in great condition infection wise

Liverpool are letting Mane/Salah/Keita go for January and they will probably have to isolate on return unless granted an exemption. So pretty reasonable to not allow half the team to miss 2 PL matches and a CL match for me. Leeds would the same if half their team was going to be missing. Hopefully for their sake an exemption can be granted if they are fully vaccinated but currently that isn't the case.

Not sure if they will. Not letting Salah go for WC qualifiers

Ww are letting him go for all January though. All of January plus another two PL matches and 1 CL match in Sept is asking too much for me.

FIFA will protect the countries over clubs. Can see players being banned if not released.

Don't see FIFA siding with the countries when there's a 10 day isolation requirement on return. They previously have sided with the clubs on this. All they will do is put pressure on the UK govt to allow exemptions for professional footballers following a strict bubble requirement.

Would Arsenal let Willian go if he is called up to play for Brazil?

Yes Corinthians will.
