Sounds like the forebodings of someone frightened of some real competition....allow me to paint you a picture of the worst case-scenario & sell it as standard fare....Such a disposition doesn't belong in this exalted company.

Yeah United don't seem to be having any issues with the level of opposition in the PL this season.

If the elite teams want a super league, then why don’t they just go to UEFA and insist that they want multiple groups of death in the CL every season and be done with it? That way we can have a good chance of Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG, Liverpool, Manchester United bowing out at the group stage.

How would you cope being bottom of the pecking order of the elites? If you spent 5 years being thrashed by Bayern, Dortmund, Real, Barca, Atletico, PSG, Lyon, City, LFC...even Porto...it would get just as ho-hum?
As an Arsenal fan, we'd be down the bottom end of this league, and it'd become stale real fast getting pumped by teams every week.

What right do the ‘top 6‘ have to guarantee themselves a place each year to the exclusion of every other team? Earn it. If you can’t with all that money you don’t deserve it. The arrogance of some bandwagon supporters is astounding

By simply being the Top 6 performed sides over A very long period, I reckon they've earn't the right to entry for starters..... Although Arsenal would be border-line these days.

Everyone knows who the Top European clubs Are.....This Ain't no crapshoot amigo.

Since 2013/2014

United have finished: 7th, 4th, 5th, 6th, 2nd, 6th and 3rd (5 trophies, including 2 Community Shields)

Arsenal have finished: 4th, 3rd, 2nd, 5th, 6th, 5th and 8th (7 trophies, including 3 Community Shields)

If Arsenal are borderline these days, then so are United.

it's bred from fear and a desire for future proofing.

Total performances since the inception of the Premier League would have United well on top....Stadium capacity, following, Revenues etc etc.....It goes on.

Literally from another era. As much as we want to believe that United are one of Europe’s elite, it’s only purely financial. Winning titles on a regular basis stopped being apart of the fabric of this football club since Ferguson retired. Not that it can’t happen again, that’s the idea of repairing the squad, but currently the team isn’t on the level of Europe’s elite.

Why not shift the goalposts when someone proves you wrong?

Stadium capacity pmsl.

Sunderland will be happy to hear they're being invited!

Nothing’s forever. If you’re so confident in your teams ability why the need to lock it in? Anyway it’s an irrelevant question as FIFA and UEFA have knocked it on the head.

Btw the wise guy ‘crapshoot amigo’ comment is very funny and childish. Not as funny of course that you didn’t even know of the new super league proposal days after.

The only fear I'm sensing thus far, is fear of change & the unknown from those Against it.....Hence All the negativity.
how is it not based off fear and also greed? clubs lose tens-hundreds of millions due to the pandemic, float the super league again. madrid hardly want to be losing to shakhtar's u/23's either. close them out. looks less embarrassing when it's the 'proper clubs'

Like I said Baz the Great......The concepts realization remains something of an inevitability down the road....Fear is no barrier to growth & expansion.

Oh I have no fear to growth and expansion as long as it doesn’t reward a small few to the exclusion of many and makes no logical sense from both a business and cultural view.
