He mentioned it in an interview last July. Some certainly need it get over it.

Your own Stevie Starfish had his own issues playing in a non favoured position so I don't think it's a modern phenomenon.

lol @ comparing Sterling to Gerrard.

It seems some City fans can't accept that Sterling isn't the greatest thing since sliced bread and has serious question marks over his mentality.

Talented player though and a shame to see him regress this season from his 2013/14 form. Next season is make or break for him. Could be a star or could be the next Aaron Lennon.

The only comparison was that Gerrard also had issues playing in a non preferred role. I would say Gerrard kicked up much more of a fuss than sterling ever has.

Not sure Sterling has regressed, he has excelled in the champions league (UEFA's team of the group stages) and more goals/assists than he ever managed at Liverpool.

In fact more goals/assists than anyone currently at Liverpool has managed this season I believe.

Next year I expect improvement, but I don't think we'll see the best of him for a few years yet. Will probably overtake Lennons career goals tally before his 22nd birthday so I don't think we have too many worries there.

may not be a bad idea to loan him out in order to gain experience and confidence
You've already tried that one, do you not keep notes?

Do you really believe Sterling is playing better football this season than 13/14?

I've watched him closely and to me it's pretty clear his football was better 2 years ago.

As for this season take out Sterling's goals gifted by Federici and his stats suddenly don't look great for a £49m player.

Is Sterling the only footballer in the world where goals don't count if your not happy with the keepers opposition effort?

Nope, not at all. I remember Gerrard scoring a hat - trick in CL qualifiers years ago against a nothing team which was dismissed as meaningless by LFC fans.

More importantly is Sterling the only City squad player immune from criticism? Some City fans are talking him up to be the next Messi and score 25 a season for the next 5 years.

I suspect reality will most likely be very different.

Jod?

FWIW having watched the goals again, wouldnt blame Federici for any of them, maybe the 3rd.

Just good attacking play for all three goals.

And massive lols @ saying Gerrard kicked up more of a fuss about being played out of position.

I must have missed Gerrard ' s performance at RB in the 2005 CL & Sterling's interview where he complained about playing at wingback.

Sterling would kill to have Gerrard ' s mentality.

Why do you feel the need the exaggerate? No-one has talked him up as the next Messi. I think you'll find he gets significantly more than the 25 a season I think Sterling will eventually be capable of.

You're picking one fan out of a worldwide fanbase of 500m plus to support your argument?
No, I just suspect you are lying through your teeth.

I've just checked lfchistory.net and in his career record they havent removed any of his goals due to the quality of opposition goalkeeper. There are also a number of youtube videos, showing his 186 goals, not his 183.

Surprisingly enough LFC TV has a two part documentary showing ... you guessed it ... Gerrards 186 career goals for them. Thats the official Liverpool channel, what were they thinking?

What have you been smoking this morning?

Hull City have released plans to change their season tickets to a membership monthly payment plan. Good in theory and a great step in the right direction, but a lot have kicked off at the flat cost to every person in the ground meaning kids pay a lot more.

Just to distract from the Sterling chat..

How much do kids have to pay now?

How much do kids have to pay now?

Something like 32 quid for a season, raising to 21 quid a month. But adults now only pay 21 quid a month, so I suspect the club hopes that ends up saving people money. Issue is situations with one adult and multiple kids, although the club has said it will look to reduce payments on a case by case basis if such situations occur.

Will those prices be maintained if you go up?

Suprised Chelsea didn't learn from Falcao. Pato's just chasing money.

We have Costa, Remy and Traore as our number 1, 2 and 3 CFs. No matter who we signed they wouldn't play unless we had a severe injury crisis.

You dont need to worry:thumbsu:
