honestly, i dont get the big deal with the marquee. most of them have been ****ing trash. most of the success stories have been talented footballers who are in their mid to late 20's recruited from spanish b leagues or 2nd divisions of other countries. how many marquees have delivered a return on the investment? del piero?

It's been hit and miss to date but wouldn't dismiss it completely. Yorke and Ono did well as well as ADP. Fowler not so much. But I'd say the bigger name ones tend to be pretty good.

It's the mid range ones like Aaron Hughes, Koren and Jardel that have sucked
