N.B... delisted players where not considered at this point.

I'd be stoked if the draft turned out like that.....addresses the main deficiencies in our line-up.

good effort but if kennedy is still available at pick 4, mark my words we will take him

Agreed Jeremias. If that was the case, i'd go with something like:

#1 Murphy (Obvious)
#4 Kennedy - KP Forward or Defender. Don't get too concerned about his shoulder
#20 Spangher - Again, helps stabilise our back half
#36 Nick Lower - Adds some depth to our midfield.

This would then give us 2 mids and 2 KPP's, which is what we need at Carlton. Add McLaren in the PSD are we are well on the way to plugging some of our gaping holes on our list.

I did have Kennedy at 4... but I thought that if Carlton saw what is widely regarded as the 'number 2 guy' in the draft slipping through to 4 they might be tempted to go with him. As a fan I'd love Kennedy at 4.

I know all of the good judges have Ellis at 2, but I'm just not seeing that in this draft.

I've gone on a scale of both best player and club needs. With such an even draft, 'club needs' comes into it as much as ever.

HugeBluesFan...havent heard about Lower...can u fill me in? personally id prefer someone like heath hocking...
The Lower Twins
I haven't seen these guys play but here's a description I garnered from another forum
Ed 185.3 83.3
Nick 186.6 83.8 (left footer)

Nick was .05 secs quicker in all the sprints
Both under 3.00sec for the 20 metres. Nick in top 6% overall

Identical time in Agility 8.23 sec (top 15%)

Nick slightly better in the beep 12.8 to 12.4

3klm - Ed 12.20 (Bottom 13%) to Nick 12.07 (Bottom 19%)

Nick is keener to take on his opponents and likes to dash from CHB/HBF. Ed is abit more of a stay at home type who plays tight. Nick is the better option of the two IMHO. He is a thunping kick and a solid mark. Both are very physical.

Nick is probably a top 30-40 pick, depending what a club is after.

Hawthorn will take Kennedy at 3 if available. He's their number 1 target (after Murphy ofcourse).

1. Carlton - Marc Murphy
2. Collingwood - Shannon Hurn
3. Hawthorn - Josh Kennedy
-------------------------------
1. Carlton - Andrew Swallow
2. Collingwood - Xavier Ellis
3. Hawthorn - Pat Ryder
4. Essendon - Beau Dowler
5. Richmond - Cleve Hughes
6. Brisbane - Austin Lucy
7. Fremantle - Mitch Clark
