Bulldogs at Etihad. I was at that game :(
Bulldogs at Etihad was the 1977 Magpie jumper, pretty sure it was 2007... As an aside, that day was one of the worst umpiring displays I've ever seen, probably par with Carlton last year and North in 2013.

I've always said, I only remember one game that I would blame the umpires for a loss and the bulldogs game is that one.

If I'm not wrong, I'm sure 2 of the 3 umpires never umpired again.

Yeah, I am with you, I am loathe to blame the umpiring for losses, but as losses they're memorable somewhat because of the poor umpiring we endured on those days.

The Carlton game last year the umpiring wasn't the reason we lost, we should have been good enough to not let it get to the stage where a poor decision cost us (such as the Colquhoun 'mark *blows whistle*, wait I mean not mark *ball up instead*' call); the level of ineptitude that day felt like a major contributing factor at the time though.

The North game in 2013 was similar in that we all remember the 38-15 free kick count, but realistically if we'd taken our chances in the first quarter/hadn't leaked multiple goals in the last 5 minutes of that first quarter, we'd have been close enough that our comeback in the last quarter wouldn't have fallen 3 minutes short.

But yeah, that day at the Phone Dome was pretty diabolical. I want to say Scott McLaren was umpiring that day, but I really cannot be bothered looking it up.

Derek Woodcock, Troy Pannell and Hayden Kennedy were the umpires. Woodcock did not umpire again after 2007.

Ah Pannell! In the top 3 most disliked umpires still currently going around for me.

I must've gotten Kennedy/McLaren mixed up, old guard umpires

Hadn't even noticed that Woodcock stopped umpiring, though there has been a major drop off of 'splinter-dick' jokes coming from our side of the boundary line... Really that should've been the give away...

Yeah my bad. I was at both of those games. They both sucked.

The 2013 PB with names is and always will be the cream of the crop.
I have one signed by the players and framed by the club.

I just wish we had won the ****ing game.

I was there too. My very first away trip, it was with the outer army. We went in like 12 seater vans. It was so cramped stuffy and awful, I swear the seats were 100% springs. Straight into the spine and glutes. Then after all that, the game sucked ass. Never again.

Now I roadtrip with mates or fly, roadtrips are great fun.

I feel your feels Dr. Feel

That was actually a pretty big OA trip, the more frustrating issue with that is that whenever anyone wanted to stop everyone had to stop, so the whole trip dragged horribly! Any of those trips with the 12 seaters ruined my back for a week, so I completely get where you're coming from. Road tripping with friends is brilliant, but I've gotten lazier and seeing as I'm now gainfully employed I have moved to flying much more than driving.

Mate, the Carlton game is the worst game I've been to for umpiring. That game was definitely won by the umpires, it was a shocking display and so anti-Port is was ridiculous. We stayed to the end, and then did a runner for the first tram back to the hotel.

They were so anti-Port, one of them actually intercepted one of Hammer's kicks.
