Just scanned the board and saw a ridiculous number of negative threads, which is understandable, but in spite of all the shock and horror of last night's loss I think there were a few big positives to take away from it.

Firstly, Kelvin Moore - he looked calm and composed, and slotted very nicely into a depleted backline. If his body holds up I can see him playing some very good football for us for another few years. What an amazing achievement and a testament to his character.

Secondly, Reece Conca - I think we got a glimpse last night, especially in the 3rd qtr, of what this kid will become. He is a lighting fast thinker, great decision maker, great user of the footy, and just moves so well.

Thirdly, Brandon Ellis - we've snared a gem here and if he doesn't get a rising star nomination this year I will eat my hat, bells and all.

Fourthly, for me anyway, Addam Maric showed some good signs last night. Kicked a great goal at a crucial time and had some very neat disposals (albeit a few went awry, but you can say that for any player).

Any others ya'll can think of?

There's also this.

As you were, gentlemen.

Another positive is that unlike Norf, we'll still exist in 5 years.:thumbsu:

Jack found his kicking boots - 5.2 not bad considering he kicked something like 1.6 last week against Melbourne.

Team fought back in the third really well. Down by 36 odd points I think late in the second and despite injuries to Rance, Newman and Batchelor (fewer rotations in tough conditions) fought back into the game.

Rested, fit and hopefully fired up Maric, Jackson, Griff and Martin to come in :thumbsu:

Jack had 100% game time also

Another positive is were working our way toward a premiership North Melbourne are trying to stay afloat on a sinkingship

You could photoshop the Norf player out of that photo and you'd still know it was a Norf game by size of the crowd.

Yes I think it's great to be knocked out of the finals race nice and early rather then having to beat port at the g in the last round, stuffing it up and finishing 9th.

Too right RP, forgot about him. Played a ripper I thought, and is starting to gain a bit of confidence. What a lovely kick of the footy he is.

Petrie and Zeibell out this week. The game is at the G, not Etihad.

Dusty will back determined to make a point.

Judd likely to be out in 2 weeks...

It's possible we can pick ourselves up win both these games - and probably look good to make the 8 again.

And we'll look back on the Gold Coast game as the reason we got our season back on track...

It could happen...

The biggest positive from this game is that if they didnt know it by now, the brains trust surely has stamped the file on few probables that are now certainties to not be on our list next year..Whoever was given a try in a a game against a team like the Suns and couldnt deliver at least par for the course, has to be gaaaaaaaawn.

wat he said... :thumbsu:

Well i was away for the weekend and didnt catch the game, checked the score at half time, knew we were in trouble, checked again half way through the last and thought we'd got out of jail... then recieved a barrage of text messages from mates feeding it to me about the tiges... didnt need to check again. Have taped the game on IQ but as I'm not a sadist have no plans on watching it.

One possitive is that i wont need to have any emotional investment in the rest of the season... although the way things work with the tiges, they'll probably come out and win the next two, only to drop games agaist the dogs and port!

I agree. We could have won by a couple of goals, limped into the finals and got a distorted view of where we are really at. I think this proves we've got a reasonable twenty two but we fall away quickly from there.

Good sides have depth - to cover injuries and to put pressure on the seniors to retain their spot.

We've got a fair bit of work to do. But I am confident we are on the right track.
