Ottens to Sydney

O'Keefe to Richmond plus a 2nd round pick (I'd prefer a 1st round though)
T.Simmonds as our pick 1 in the PSD

what do you guys think?

If its true that Brad wants out then why keep him?

Sydney's picks are low down, I'd definitely prefer O'Keefe and their first round pick.

Feel free to call me stupid, but any chance of getting Harley and a pick from Geelong, and then Simmons in the PSD?

I'm agreeing along those lines. Anyone know if Josh Hunt has been re-signed? Him along with a pick and Simmonds would do finely. Ottens will not go for a song.

I'd be more than happy with the first two draft picks of either Sydney or Geelong.

I want us to absolutely murder this draft....

Whats the fascination with Ryan Okeefe?
Wasnt even a regular at Sydney til this year, reckon we can do lots better.

3's priority. It cant be traded.

Apparently it can if permission is granted by the afl, i think the general idea is that they prefer clubs to keep the priority picks though.

Pick 6 and Gilbee would be a great return, probably asking too much.

Ahh ok.. sorry, didnt know that.

I didn't either until recently, then someone let me know and pointed out the Hodge/Croad trade which involved Freo's priority pick.

FFS. Why allow the AFL to have discretionary power in determining whether clubs can/cant trade away there priority picks.

Can someone clarify the rules governing the trading of priority picks .

Brad Ottens for Pick 3 and Lindsey Gilbee.

I dont care if that sounds far fetched, thats the deal I would push for.

The Bulldogs would be one of the best big man teams in the league with Darcy, Ottens, Rawlings and Harris as a Solid big man unit to build a team around!

We get pick 3 - after Deledio, Tambling, Griffen, Franklin, Roughead (3 of these 5 would be ours!) We could end up with Deledio at number one, Tambling at number three and Franklin at number four. Good start to build our future around.

Lindsey Gilbee wants to come to Richmond after meeting with Wallace and he would add pace and skill to a slow unskilled team. Along with the pick 3 which would be Tambling another one with unbelievable pace and skill.

I dunno right now this is a very entertaining deal that I read around the traps and I would consider it very carefully. I dont think Sydney or Geelong could out bargain the Doggies if that deal came up.

Originally they were not tradeable.

Fremantle then wanted to do a trade and had the AFL change the rules. They came up with this half-way idea of being able to trade them with AFL permission.

Now they can be traded. Any AFL involvement is now a formality.

Basically the AFL makes us the rules as they go along and change them every year.

And the competion is all sooooooo much the better because of our benevolent masters..

i dont know how reliable this is but the word already is that pies are gonna make a play for otto, there has been dialogue as recently as yesterday..

this came from within the collingwood club, someone to do with their fitness staff?

something about tests done on his/or to be done on his back?

also he definately wants to remain in melb.

I think that this is very exciting stuff . Watch them all queue up with thier check books out .

G Miller is like sitting at the Poker table with 4 aces up his sleeve

The real beauty is that we finished up coming last which means we can`t lose him for nothing a - la hawks and Rawlings !

Keep that poker face Miller

as sick as it sounds the pies bid may be about as good as it gets....Pick 7 and McGough or another draft pick to me is a bloody good start...The cats have pick 16 to throw around.WOW and swans pick 14 ..WOW again

Iexpect that the frenzy will start to get interesting once essendon and Carlton enetr the fray...certain to be interested

personally i reckon some of these clubs are gonna be like seagulls circling my bag of hotchips come trade time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

now i could be wrong but after it all settles there will be a few football managers out there thinking geez this kid could just get us into the finals/grandfinal.

if he was 28 or so it could be dicey but at 24/25 and the untapped potential he could strike up more interest in clubs that once before werent.

other supporters are going on about his asking price but by securing his services they would be still getting a good deal it could mean the difference between a finals appearance or god forbid a grand final appearance for some club.

so all in all we will be winners in the long term, especialy if we can jag another top ten draft pick, to add to our others.

lets not forget the only reason he was getting that sort of cash in the first place was because he was gonna walk last time (01 i think) so his management company thought they could stitch us up again, enter greg miller who has said deal or no deal.

so let the trading begin guys because its been a long time since we have been in a position like this if ever, since the V.F.L became the A.F.L...

there is not many talls in the comp who can play in the ruck and also play up fwd.while Otto,s form over the past few years hasnt been great niether has the side as a whole.this will work in our favor.if i was another club id be more worried if he wasnt performing in a side who was performing well.
he wants to stay in melb which is another bonus.
i can see most melb sides chasing him except for the saints, melb+possibly ess.

cheers!

McGough is slow. With Coughlan and Johnson in the centre square allready we won't want someone like him.

I'll say it again. Ottens for pick 7 and McGough is undervalueing him.

Also can't see Collingwood being interested. With Travis and Cameron Cloke, Brent Hall and Guy Richards and Josh Fraser in the squad they will want pace, not a ruckman.
