So I've discussed this on other parts of this forum before but I figure this is a nice place to say it as well.

20th July 1995 the AFL lodged the following names for copyright:
Port Pirates
Port Mariners
Port Sharks
Port Power
There are no logos or prototype logos for these as I am about to show below for Fremantle.

Other nicknames considered for Freo were Union, Stokers and Mariners.

Real interesting stuff. There's heaps of other shit that I've found as well but these are somewhat relevant to the now and here so I posted them.

Same applies to Port and Freo, yet we all somehow wound up with largely non-marketable, non-sentient monikers.
