I have welcomed your discussions. I've never turned away hearing opinions. No one has offered to help so far until today so any IT guru's on here are more than welcome to PM me and discuss options.

Remember no one actioned the initiation of creating a page, so I took it on to get it started. Again I haven't mentioned that I use my own money to try and promote the page and increase exposure. There is no ego here, I'm only trying to create subtle changes which I hope will attract new followers to big footy and also the podcasts, whilst also creating another profile link to the club.

I don't see how some one volunteering their time, money trying to do what they think is best deserves to be ridiculed and mocked.

The page has been going for how long now? Over a year I haven't had one person contact me offering to help, provide idea's & suggestions etc. So finbarr tribey anyone else, if you want to message me with productive advise or if you wish to be a volunteer admin to help with posting content feel free and I'm happy to arrange.

Cheers Honeyboy. No that isn't my intent. People are entitled to their opinions, their hearts are in the right place in wanting what's best for a forum and foot club they love, I understand that.

I still can't see what's wrong with just calling it the Port Board at Bigfooty, because that's what it is, isn't it? The Facebook version/representation of this board. That was the only reason I liked it to begin with. If it was called what it is now I probably would have given it a miss.

This is just an observation by the way, not criticism. I ain't mad.

Ok here's the plan seeing people keep banging on and on and on about it

I'm doing a course on facebook marketing. I'm using the techniques that I'm learning to try and increase the bigfooty awareness and also the podcast awareness.

As you'll see on the facebook page bigfooty is still represented, however I'm trying to make it more generalised. I am doing this to try and expand our market to all Port supporters. Over the next few weeks I'll be implementing further strategies and $$$ to increase our numbers on the page.

I'm hoping with a broader appeal and numbers it will increase traffic to the Port board and also to the podcast. I am then hoping with greater exposure that the footy club will give us greater access to players and staff.

Bomber Clifford has also generously offered to help and I will communicate with him to take advantage of his experience also.

It's great to see so many people are passionate, it's unfortunate that a few people have been quick to voice their disapproval and delete the like's from the page, but with everything we can't appeal to everyone. No different to personalities.

As stated previously I'm trying to give it a go, no different to the podcast, everyone spoke about it but no one actioned it, therefore I instigated getting it going with Macca. I like to do things. If it doesn't work, I'll revert everything back to how it was.

If everyone is this passionate about the page I implore you to start commenting on posts, share posts so it gets exposure via all your friends.

That's cool, and I really respect and admire your effort and initiative. I hope it works out.

Personally I was only ever interested in liking a representation of this board and that's it, nothing broader or more generalised as there are other pages available already that do that. The "I love" bit in the title is a bit off putting to me also, I almost expect to come over and see the cover photo plastered with Angus Monfries pics and love hearts. But that's just me, and I know zero about Facebook marketing. Just giving my feedback.

Good luck with everything and don't let the haters stop you from doing good work for the club.
