Got a phone call from a prefix and number that I didn't recognise.

Turns out it was the department of finance in Canberra calling me to say I got 'perfect scores' on their testing and they want to fly me out to Canberra at the end of this month, for an interview for their ICT Program

...I think they've got the wrong guy. I applied but I really don't think I got perfect scoring, and moving to Canberra...eeeeehhh.

Oh, and you can get tickets to the footy in Canberra. Saw some spaces in the crowd.

When she was saying "congratulations, you got a perfect score I don't think any other applicants did."

I was like "....thanks?"

She must of thought "gee this guy is full of life."

When she called, I didn't hear where she was calling from so the whole time I'm trying to work it out without awkwardly directly asking her. So I asked "Are you going to send me a confirmation email?" she goes "Yes, but only after you have confirmed with us a date you wish to fly over to Canberra, a date between the 20th and 23rd of May" so I was like "shit, i'm trapped. I either committ to interviewing for god knows where in canberra, or I say no." so I confirmed the date, then snooped on the internet to trace the phone number they called from, lol.

I totally applied for this on a whim, so ridiculously unprepared to receive that call. I hadn't even thought about it since I applied.

I always get told you should at least take the interview. Canberra though, seriously.

Given today's technological advances in videoconferencing, smartphones and other assorted decentralising measures it is mindboggling that all the government graduate streams still require you to relocate for 1-2 years to the most frigid anus in the country.

If I go, and enjoy the experience and get offered a role, it's going to be tough. Miss Feel just got a big paying job here in Adelaide, we own a house etc etc.

Would be a big change. Miss feel doesn't care, she reckons she'll just get her teachers registration in Canberra and go from there. I guess it doesn't have to be permanent.
