I remember still going over the maths in my head when it was 10 goals at half time.

I remember turning off the tv, telling everyone that we wouldn't be watching the second half, then going out to the back yard and getting my booze on and listened to the radio. **** that.

I don't remember that ******* day at all and I never will
Me and a mate bussed it over and back same day (as we had done in 2004). Spent second half in bar but stayed til the end. On bus home he said to me "that never happened did it". We've never spoken of that day again

I remember the traditional half time kick in the backyard with my old man and the radio blaring so we'd know when the 3rd quarter was about to get underway.

"Just a few more kicks"

That day. My Geebung supporting mate was so nice to me. He was a little embarrassed even.

I couldn't do it after 3/4 time though. It was on, I was in the room, but I was very disconnected to what was happening to the TV.

2004 was one of the best days of my life. Big party at mates at Largs Bay, TVs out the back, beer forever, missus had made about 100 Port coloured jelly shots etc. Alberton afterwards, another party later on. ****ing brilliant.
Forward to 07, couldn't get out of work til 330, mates all went over, go home to heavily pregnant missus who had dressed up the house to celebrate while I was at work. Of course, it was all over by then. I remember sitting half way through the third thinking "how the **** has my life changed so much?" Big benders at GFs to this situation, & there's my cow loving mother in law doing her ****ing sewing across from me giving me shit too? **** this, went & had a big sulk & chainsmoked to the outside wireless.
Go back in after, missus had told her mum to **** off and took down all the balloons and shit. She was pissed too, suggested an early night. ****ed time for Port Adelaide.

I was at home playing vidya. Turned on tv for the match as i was avoiding the pre-game bs. Sort of watched the first quarter, turned the tv off and went about my day like nothing was happening. Blissful ignorance, as a result i feel zero connection/memories of the day. Fantastic.

This has been cathartic as shit. Get it all out people.

I was copping a gobful from some fat slag as we walked out and I got to use the Stewie Griffen "any tread left on the tyres..." routine.

Her friends were calling her "hotdogs" and laughing so hard I almost smiled.

We copped a shedload from a Carlton supporter as we headed dome after the game. A f'en Carlton supporter. They finished 15th, just above Richmond.

Great, more Choco...

Beat the reigning premiers by 5 goals at the MCG sans a couple of Burgoynes to go 3-1.

Everyone plays brilliantly.

Rather than keep a lid on it and focus everyone's attention towards the Friday night blockbuster against fellow flag fancy, St. Kilda, Williams declares it the greatest win in club history as the lid well and truly comes off.

By halftime we're down 10.5 to 1.3 in wet conditions.

Had absolutely no idea how to psychologically prepare his side.
