Just for something different.

**** me Tony Abbott is such an embarrassment.

My favourite line is the last. "Yet it is the only way to prevent a tide of humanity surging through Europe and quite possibly changing it forever."

I mean, I was only born in 1996 so I wasn't around, but I'm pretty sure Australia hasn't always been full of white people.

What's your point? White people changed Australia forever, just like a mass of refugees from a different culture possibly will Europe.

Got it in one.

I mean, the refugees coming into Europe clearly aren't going to overrun countries as whites did here, but there are similarities.

I just think it's a bit dumb to automatically assume that an influx of people from another culture is such a horrible thing, especially when it's a white Briton Australian making the assumption.

Many contend that mass migration killed the Roman Empire.

I can certainly understand people's fears. But I am playing the devil's advocate a little, governments should be doing a lot to resettle these Syrian refugees, and Tony Abbott's opinion on the matter should count for absolutely naught considering the crimes against humanity committed on Nauru and the repeat attempts to cover it up.

I didn't say so, in fact, I probably inferred otherwise, but I was being particularly critical of Abbott's immigration policies regarding Australia.

It's a bit of a different issue in Europe.

I can only assume that Abbott genuinely thinks that asylum seekers being allowed into Australia will change it forever too (clearly has negative connotations). Which obviously I think is pretty ridiculous.

Now for something different....Fleetwood Mac, classy band....couldn't ask for a better night weather wise, BTW...I would do Christine Macvie, even at 60 plus... I wouldn't be able to handle Stevie Nicks moaning if I was be doing her...

In the immortal words of Last Week Tonight - "Australia is for real Australians, like Tony Abbott ... who was born in London, England".

Working at the Fleetwood Mac concert and I shit you not a man walks up to the bar in his crows cap and asks for chardonnay.

Did have a chuckle.

My first response would have been, your a couple of months two early for the footy, and this is the Adelaide Untied home and there is no footy match other than the match with the balls between Mic Fleetwood's groin.

Or

I would have pissed myself laughing and then said, are you for real?

So un-capped immigration into a country with a economy that is heading south, and unemployment rates heading north? That doesn't strike you as something likely to cause issues? So either Australians lose job opportunities to immigrants or Australians pay for welfare for immigrants though taxation?

There is a reason this country has been in the shit since Howard was voted out. He had the balls to do what needed to be done. No one since has.

Just my two cents.

Yer Jonny did real well when the worlds economic situation turned to shit.
Him and his stupid coalition of the willing is the reason for all this ****ing mess in the middle east.

The West caused all this shit but don't want a bar of working out how to fix the problem.

The Middle East has been a shithole of fighting since, well forever. The only difference is the last 100 years is oil money giving them geo-political influence and money to back terrorists in some places. Outside of The United Arab Emirates none of the Arab / Persian economies have set up for a post oil world. The Middle East is one of the best reasons for in the short term
Countries going with fracking and the like and medium / long term nuclear / renewables. Once they lose their money / influence they'll lose their ability to largely export trouble as they struggle to have enough cash to take care of themselves - they'll be the worst of African countries that struggle rather then Asia that's at or rapidly all heading towards first world.

Going for an early morning walk, at least for me anyway, what the hell is slayer espresso? I didn't know they sold out into coffee. :P

Middle East is a cesspool. Australia's situation is SIGNIFICANTLY worse now, than it was under John Howard.
