Timothy Dalton, between the Bond films, and Hot Fuzz, there was a lot of nothing.

A good Bond though.

I remember reading somewhere that Pierce Brosnan was actually first in line to do the Dalton 007 movies, but had to decline because he couldn't get out of his Remington Steele contract.

I can't see him in either movie really, but then again maybe he would've played Bond a lot differently had he got to the role earlier in his career.

Tomorrow Never Dies is my vote for underrated Bond movie. A lot of people scoff at a media mogul being the villian, but I think this theme is one of the more realistic propositions in the whole franchise and I really liked the story they put around it. I wouldn't mind seeing Rupert Murdoch getting the shredder treatment!

Woulda been interesting as well if Sam Niell got the gig when Moore stepped down... would it have meant no Dr. Alan Grant though?

Andrew Clarke - the guy with the moustache in the Skippy The Bush Kangaroo reboot of the early 90's - was in the gun at one stage.

Cubby Broccoli was a different cat.

It's funny and ironic.

Apparently Dalton was also first in line after Connery stepped down, but declined because he was a fan of the books and believed he was too young to play the role properly.

Enter Moore.

Then 7 movies later, they want Brosnan but he is young and can't get out of a contract, so they go back to Dalton.

Then, 2 movies and 10 years later, back to Brosnan.

Talk about having your cake and eating it too.

Just finished watching Taken for the umpteenth time & only this time realised the last time I was in Paris back in '11 was 200 metres from where the Albanians were holed up.

Missed a good selfie.

Despite what I said about Lazenby's Bond, I think it suited the film perfectly. I don't know if I'd rate OHMSS as highly as I do if Connery had still been in the role, and Connery is my favourite.

Haha I love the word campaigner. I try to use it as much as I can, when I think it'll fit. Never saw it used on English or American forums so I think it's a very Australian thing
Hah. It comes from Eddie McGuire (Collingwood president) calling Kane Cornes a 'campaigner'(censored) on Fox Footy.

A BigFooty exclusive word since admin filtered the C bomb to campaigner after that interview.

The Grave Danger lookalike from The Professionals tv show was in the running to take over from Moore in about 1980 as well

Haha so it's not even an Australian thing, more like a BigFooty slang? Awesome

Spacebong, Hydromedusa, Crypt, Mammoth if you want some dirty punk, doom/blues, crusty stuff.
Truth Corroded, Alkira, Couldran Black Ram if you want some Metal.
The Grenadeirs are pretty cool with the three piece punk thing. The Mark Of Cain are the seminal post punk/hard rock band from Adelaide & have been around for ever. Some of these will be on spotify/iTunes but you may need to go on bandcamp or YouTube for the others.
These are some of what I'm exposed to, being into punk & metal. Happy listening.
Couldn't find any of Spacebong, Hydromedusa, Crypt, Mammoth on Deezer unfortunately. I'm not very interested in Metal so will pass those for now, though I might give them a chance later. I've found a band called The Grenadiers that seems to be quite cool but I'm not sure if that's the one you were referring to, as there is no 'bio' info on Deezer about them.

Oh wait - just found the right Grenadiers (checked the name of their songs on their website) and it's quite different from the other one! Haha. I think the other band is English.

Bought a Badminton kit (4 rackets, 3 shuttlecocks and a net) as a Christmas present for a friend of mine. He might love it or hate it. Haha
Last year he gave me a glove and a baseball so I'm trying to create a sporting tradition here

I discovered I liked watching it during the 2012 London Olympics. I bought tickets for singles and doubles finals in Rio 2016. I've never played the sport though - hope to start with this new kit haha

Every time I read your posts, Im amazed that English is not your native language :) You seem to have as good a grasp of English as anyone else who posts on here, and indeed better than some :p

Is English introduced into your country's school system at a very young age? :)

Thank you mate. I think I started having English lessons in 5th grade, but kids these days start earlier I believe.
My English classes from 5th to 9th or 10th grade were extremely basic though, and at that point (around 15 years of age) I wouldn't consider myself able to speak English at all. Most people here who become fluent in the language do so because they take extra English courses, in addition to school. I did go to an English course for about 2 years, but most people frequent them for much longer. I'd say I only really improved my English when I started to join English football forums, mostly LFC forums, and tried to communicate with people from all over the world. It's tough to learn a new language if you don't practice it so the internet gave me a platform to do so. At first my English was truly horrible though. I'm sure I would cringe at some of the stuff I wrote 10 years ago if those forums were still online. :D Anyway, my written English is far better than speaking/listening, that's for sure - and in part because I don't practice speaking as much as I do with reading, and it's much harder to speak than write, without proper time to think and correct mistakes before clicking "post". I hope that will change when I move over to Australia ;)
