Could this day get any worse.

The eldest daughter has managed to lose my "The Warriors" special edition DVD. No idea where she left it. "It's only a DVD" she says.

Someone is about to have a bat shoved up their ass and be turned you into a popsicle.
If you find out who has it make sure you sit in your car outside their house clanging bottles together on your fingers calling them out to play.

Alright, finally. 2 weeks annual leave in front of me, it's time to load up fallout 4 for the first time and choose between saving my son and nuking boston. (thank you very much for spoiling that INTERNET)

Oh yeah, and feel free to hit me with other games too. I have a long list of unplayed, even GTA V. Now is the time for me to spam as much as I can in a two week period.
I bet Miss Feel is really happy about your plans.

As long as I participate in christmas day family related shit, she's happy. It's great.
By then I guess you'll just be watching everyone to decide what role they might fill in your vault

In a bit: Decent film, somewhere between the classics and the prequels, probably leaning towards to originals in terms of quality.

The film I thought could have used more tension and romance, and less barely-funny wise cracks, at least from Fin who was a pretty meh main character.

There was way too much "wooOOaaHHH look what we did can you believe that we did that WoaaaHHhH" from Fin and, I mean a bit more subtlety and suave please. This is hopefully where Poe Dameron comes in to be Han's heir as the loveable rogue, he got waaaay too little screen time.

I thought Ray and Fin were underwhelming as lead characters. Ray less so but Fin was truly an unenjoyable character for the most. Between the two of them they had a single facial expression the entire time - utterly dumbfounded. I hope they don't rely too heavily on these characters in the next two films.

Kylo Ren got better as the movie went on and I was incredibly satisfied with his character. Best villain since Vader easily, and his scene with Han was the best in the movie. So much tension and emotion, I loved it. You can actually see where all of his conflict comes from and it feels real, unlike Anakin in the prequels whose "love" for Padme was unbelievable and his tensions with Obi Wan built on nothing.

Anyway in a nut, more Poe and Kylo, less Fin. Slow it down a touch too.

Yeah but what on earth do you mean when you say "In short, the camera work, editing, and music score just aren't there any more"? because George Lucas only directed one film in the original trilogy and the two others have a unique style when it comes to pacing and cinematography. The prequels are just trash and all over the shop in every way. The camera work was static and unimaginative(mostly just shots of people walking and talking or standing still with a camera positioned over each shoulder) and every scene seemed flat and two-dimensional. And the pacing and editing of the prequels is just awful. Though I still watch them from time to time as a sort of guilty pleasure. But it's cool. In the end it's all about personal taste and there isn't a movie in existence that everyone likes.

George may only have "directed" one of the OT but there's no doubting his presence in every aspect of the other films. The presentation definitely flowed and was consistent in all 6 films, whether people think that was bad or not doesn't change the fact it is the distinctive star wars style.

I do like the movie a lot, I'm just disappointed it didn't stick to the established style, and as a star wars flick, it didn't tick the boxes for me personally.

Seriously, the music for this was the worst of the franchise so far. You can't disagree with that surely?

I actually liked Finn, there was probably an overkill of humour, but I laughed most of the time. I didn't like Rey, found her sulky and trying way to hard to be mysterious, and her 15 minute mastery of the force was a serious slap in the face.

Loved Ren though, brilliant, and Poe I agree with as well.

The background plot was the most disappointing, it was basically a rehash of A New Hope and Return of the Jedi.

I didn't even notice the music to be honest. There were definitely no 'Duel of Fates' moments that blew me away.

There was no noticeable new music pieces at all. The only thing that stuck out to me was the Cloud City music that played when Han reunited with Leia.

I love that it doesn't take itself too seriously and that the movie has funny bits but there was too much wisecracking from Fin, especially when he wasn't really funny. Leave it to Poe imo, it's very "him". I thought it was pretty funny when he arked up to Ren at the start of the film. Just need mooooooar.

Han was pretty good. Perhaps a bit too self aware in referring back to the previous films events (I dont really have the words for this) - when, for example, he made a quip upon seeing the Death Star compared to the new weapon was like "well its pretty easy there must be a way to easily beat this gigantic planet destroying weapon we did it before remember"

Then they just come up with a plan in 10 seconds and it works. Look they probably didn't have to have the Death Star clone (and 10x bigger because reasons) it was more of an afterthought.

Because there's no tension at all in the Duel of Fates fight you're free to consume the music more because all that's on screen is a few athletes jumping around.

It sure was, it wasn't necessary, especially with the ships. You coulda done it just with the rebel/resistance agents on the ground, but the fighters was just a completely unneeded distraction.

The 3P0 scene was hilarious.

I loved the return of 3p0 and the way they did it was excellent. I wasn't sure if the gay robots were making a return outside of the bit where they showed R2 in the trailer. Very pleased with that. BB8 was OK. R2 is infinitely more useful as a get out of jail free card for any tight situations the protagonists find themselves in.

Answer the real questions!

- Was font choice throughout the film appropriate to the setting?
- Any thoughts on the use of colour palettes as signifiers of themes within the film?
- Any inconsistencies in wardrobe design that particularly stuck out?

A woman asking about fonts, colour palettes, and wardrobes?

Hmmmm

It was used when Anakin set off to find his mother too, I thought that was one of the only properly done scenes in regards to Anakin not being a little bitch.

Storm Trooper design was really cool. All the core was there but modified slightly to be a bit rounded at the edges, a far better look than the CGI troopers in the prequels. The baddies being dressed in basically Nazi garb obviously made them look fab, I mean the Nazis were fashionistas. Space nazis. Suave.
