Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter never sat through a single one, never seen an episode of Game of thrones... i got through Avatar the only thing I liked was the forest at night thing with the glowing purple shit or whatever it reminded me of tripping.

Most of the people on the GOT bandwagon strike me as the same people who would make fun of LoTR in the day and it's followers because it is "nerd shit" that "goes forever".

Yet 10 years later, 50 odd hours of fantasy TV is ok cause ****?

I read LoTR years before the movies, and ASoIaF, but I like ****. Can I have my own category?

Most of the people who are into GoT would have been into LoTR.

I dunno, I see a lot of people I knew in high school posting religiously every Monday night, but when LoTR was in cinemas they had zero interest and I was king nerd.

Not disputing my king nerd credentials, but I've seen like 3 GoT episodes and it done nothing for me, and when they're beating off over Jon Snow I'm waiting on the MRP report. Who is the nerd now?

Then again, I think a lot of barriers have been broken down in the last few years re: nerd culture, but when a guy goes to a dress up party as a Jedi, it is an expensive top quality costume, but the lightsabre is wrong and they don't know what an ewok or jawa is... I didn't dress up for a GoT theme party last year I was invited to, cause that would have been bandwagon posing.

My fat bearded mate done a great fat bearded guy though.
