This year, likely a bottom 4 finish and NO first round draft pick because we traded it for a player that played VFL.

Our midfield is carried by one or two players and even with them cannot win a contested possession or ground ball for their life. All 3 of our rucks are SANFL standard too.

I don't even need to explain the disaster that is our forward and backline.

With the Tasmania compromised the draft coming up, this rebuild could be long.

Quarter of the list is out injured. Most of the list are average or below afl standards. Four or five players are average to above AFL standard. Two or three players are elite.

A list always looks bad when it is poorly coached. There is definately areas of the list which need attention. But ken is the issue he is what is holding the playing group back.
Collingwood fans were saying similar things to us in Buckley's last year where they finished 17th. Mcrea comes along and things change for the better I think similar will happen when josh takes over

There’s so much money in it now they don’t have to win anything to have a successful career.
You’ll never have contacts solely based on performances.

Collingwood got Daicos x2, Moore, Quaynor all elite players for basically free

Port doesn't have a good spine to build a team around.

Tall Defenders - None. Aliir is not the player he once was and BZT and Ratugolea are solid players but won't ever be elite defenders.

Midifield - Butters and JHF. Bergman is coming along well as a mid. Butters and Bergman are a big chance of leaving though.

Tall Forwards - Georgiades. Marshall is about a head knock or two away from retiring, jury is out on Lukoisus, Lord ain't the answer, Finlayson is hot and cold and Whitlock is not ready.

Ruck - Visentini will become good in a couple of years time. Has a lot of upside.

Should have made the call last season and give Boak the tap on the shoulders and say you can rest now. Keeping Boak says a lot about the club at the moment. Not ruthless enough to make the call.

I miss 2013 and 2014 the most. No one expected Port to play well. It goes to show that Port had good assistant coaches back then and a decent fitness department to win.

Even a total idiot would have said bye to the coach after that Dogs final.
We had our chances and now they’re gone.
Having to start again and going through all the shit is not an enjoyable thing.
Unfortunately it’s the only way out and we have to accept it and move on.
There’s no easy fix.

The problem is that the key decision-makers at the club still, and I repeat, still think that this season is the year when all the puzzle pieces will fit together, and we’ll finally get over the hump and win the premiership, despite the fact that we are in the bottom four and at the minute we don’t have a prayer of winning a game of Australian Rules Football.

Bang on. We all agree that Hinkley is a terrible coach who is terrible at motivating his players and that this year is a huge stupid waste, right?

You can't look at this year given everything going on and rate the list based on it. The same list finished 2nd last season. There is plenty of talent, it just needs to be utilised and motivated correctly.

There are examples everywhere of apparently terrible players and teams suddenly completely changing their fortunes once the move clubs or the coach is changed.

This years draft is not deep by accounts maybe not having a decent pick isn’t a big deal but that said we pick up a decent pick and it lands us a high end defender?

The lead in to 2025 season was very underwhelming from what I observed. Poor standard at training & mostly unskilled & disinterested performances in lead up games. The atmosphere at the club seemed very dead. It certainly is going to take a major overhaul but theres no way these players are as bad as their current performances.
