Seeing as I am now the house husband and I do enjoy cooking (mainly sweets) I thought it would be good if people here might share their favourite recipes. Alot of you seem to have a fair grasp on culinary delights so post what you like to cook at home. It can be everyday meals or fancy ones you cook when having guests. For me I can't go past the Sausage Casserole, most people have the ingredients around the home and you can mix it up by adding different spices.
PS : sorry if this is a sad thread but i really need ideas or my wife is going to kill me for having honey soy chicken wings 5 nights in a row
Sausage Casserole with Potatoes
1 tbsp olive oil 2 tsp chopped fresh oregano or marjoram
12 thick sausages 3-4 med potatoes, peeled, cooked until
2 med onions, sliced tender and thickly sliced
2 cloves garlic, crushed
800g can tomatoes
3 large carrots, chopped into roughly 2cm pieces
Preheat oven to a moderate 180ºC. Heat oil in a large stovetop casserole dish or heavy-based ovenproof pan over a medium heat. Brown sausages a few at a time, then return them all to the pan. Add onions and garlic, cook for 3-4min. Pour over tomatoes, add carrot and oregano. Stir to combine. Arrange the potato slices on top and season to taste with salt and pepper. Cover and bake for 50min. Remove the lid and cook for a further 15-20min or until potatoes are lightly browned and sausages are tender.
