Man I was impressed how we reversed our form on Sunday night. I can only imagine how Mr Scott tore stripes off the playing group at half time. Well overdue IMO.
And I only turned up at half-time (sorry ScottyVapor, I had every intention of chewing some fat with you pre-game again), so as far as im concerned, that was a complete performance by Thd Shinboners.

Mentioned it to a mate at half time that we don't have a coach who knows how to shove a rocket up the playing group in situations like this.

He actually didn't though...

What happened at half time then?

"I suppose the assumption would be that we tore strips off them – that would have been the easy thing to do," he said.

"A big spray was on the tip of my tongue, that's for sure.

"At half-time it was mainly about identifying the things we needed to fix, as boring as that sounds.

"And making sure that we remained composed. There's no point telling your players to remain composed while screaming at the top of your lungs.

"I asked for the leaders to get the game back on our terms and they did that really well."

And that, people, makes him a great coach.

Ahhh I was right all along.

Boomer said on SEN today that they braced themselves for a decent bake as they walked off at half time however Bradley was quite calm and just told them to go back to what they do best and that is to play their natural attacking style game.

Which probably means two things. One is he has baked them in the past on occasion and secondly he still has a baking up his sleeve for later on in the year.

BTW, I've been a bit infrequent too so may have missed him, but where has Clokey been lately?

If you spray every 2 weeks or so then the spray loses it's potency. You have no where to go when you really need to give one. A spray on very rare occasions is much more powerful than sprays every few weeks.

I thought the game was in the toilet at half time, and given how our forwards had performed this year we weren't exactly flushed with options.

Thankfully we didn't let them get off the chain.

My insiders inform me that Mr Scott fully intended to tear the stripes off the boys until it dawned on him that they were wearing the Icon strip, leading to a meeting with the coaches as to whether this strip still resembled the stripes sufficiently for aforementioned tearing or whether the iconic abstraction rendered the guernsey stripeless and any attempt for tearing off, without logical foundation. At the completion of this aesthetic meeting, it was realised that it was time to start the third quarter, allowing Mr Scott to only call out to the players "give me 8 goals in 16 minutes please or i'll tear the icons off you at 3 quarter time".

Well said. Being a good team on paper is not enough.

Except when you have a bit of BO. More frequent application is then recommended.

We can't afford to brush the first half off though. We don't have the runs on the board to accept that sort of lapse. Skills were a real concern in particular, floater after floater.

Strangely enough I'm told that the floating ones are much healthier than the heavier versions

So new game plan, defensive for the first half, keep the opposition to within 15 points then all out attack for the next, we proved last year we could attack for 3 quarters at least, so we should be fit enough to attack for the 2nd half.

I asked one of the players after the game, I said WTF happened at half time that changed you guys so much?...He said they watched some clips during the half time break.
