If anyone saw the Age today, you'll know what I'm talking about. Otherwise...

We can't lose Misiti, simply lacking pace doesn't mean that's a reason to cast him off like driftwood. He's too skilled and too experienced to be lost to us. Remember, Michael Voss is 28 as well...are people calling him too old?

Post here to save Joey!!!

He's got to finish sometime mate. Let it go. We have young talented players that might get sick of waiting for senior level opportunities at Essendon.

He still can play an important role for the club. I don;t believe it is a coincidence that when Smokin Joe and Pevers started playing good footy - the team started to play better. we need those big hardened bodies in the middle while the younger guys develop - not ot expose them to bash and crash footy too soon.

His time is coming to an end despite being one of the greatest at clearances in Essendon (in his hayday)... Just hope EFC give him the farewell he deserves ...

Give him a 1 year contract for about $120K. Too good to just cast away, but not good enough to be a starting 18 player. To lose Misiti, Barnard and possibly Alessio in 1 year will be tough on the playing group.

I think he's worth one more year as the general of the mid-field. We should have learned the lessons of 2002 that losing too many good players all at once would be damaging. Mercs is gone (insert broken heart here) and so is Ces I think, Barney too. You dont just rip the guts out of your team and expect success. Joe has earned a final opportunity, given what he has brought to our club.

I never thought I would defend Joe Misiti, given I think personally he is a less then desireable person. But credit where it's due, he's been a great player.

Never really had pace Stealthy. Wouldn't be surprised to see him have one more year, used mainly off the bench. I doubt he would be worth much in the trade market.

Was actually surprised he was less than 30, seems injuries have taken their toll there.

I thought smokin' played some very good games this season. Would be crazy to leave the midfield at the mercy of inexperience. Not many players know where the balls gunna be (not just where it is) better than Joe does. There will still be room to add to our list through retirements and trades.

Was going in for lunch at Mark's place next to uni with a couple of mates, and guess who walks out - Joey, Bolts and Pev. I shook hands with all 3, and had a quick chat with Joey, told him that I appreciated his service to the club, and good luck whatever happens. I'm not a big fan of how he's being treated at the moment, but I'm glad I was able to meet him.
