Would love to know the figures for an average day of radio vs advertisement. At the moment I reckon the station is running at a ratio of 3:1 radio vs advertising.

Live reads get more annoying the longer they go on. Say you're looking at a Mazda CX5 for the better half DO THEY HAVE AN ONLINE CALCULATOR

the ratio is worse if you include news breaks as 'non-show content'. For instance, the Sports Today podcasts on 3aw go for 35 minutes, which is obviously out of an "hour" show. Included in that 35 mins is the 20 times Dwayne mentions De Bortoli wine, which is just extra ads poorly disguised as prizes for people who ring in.

SEN is similar for peak times, then it goes up to about 40-min-per-hour off-peak.

You're serious aren't you? So you are upset sen decided to broadcast a game of soccer for 2 hours, out of their 168 hour weekly schedule?

Just to be accurate, it was 5 hours. The game was on from 7 to 10, then The Four Diegos were on 'til midnight.

Actually you're right now I think of all the times they mention Bertochi, news, weather, talk back callers talking rubbish I reckon for each hour the presenters would only need about 15 minutes of actual content. Crazy.

I'm not sure what to make of MG, and Francis leach's return.

They've really downgraded the midday slot. Maher having only 3 hours. I wonder what'll happen to a lot of the good segments from halftime? JYB, the nz guy, hoggy, and on Fridays?

The BOOM CRASH OPERA intro will be gone! With Richard Stubbs leaving the ABC, I'm not sure what i'll be listening to.

Hart won't be able to use NZer Kent johns. That guy's shift will be finished when hard comes on. The hour of power was an easy means to finish a program off. You couldn't start a program like that. Casual Friday can't work with Maher.

For Richmond, Addam Maric, and I'm serious, I loved the effort he showed, unfortunately not good enough at the elite level.

Soccer on radio could be good, I agree with you. But for a station that really needs a boost this off season, unfortunately soccer commentary is beyond dull to most listeners. I thought they were going to do a good shake up, if the new presenters written here are true they basically changed Gaze for Leach and little else. A good change. But hardly enough to bring the listeners.

I for one am glad they get behind the local Melbourne teams, be it Basketball, Rugby, Football, Netball, Cricket or whatever.

What about Australian baseball? Remember that premium entertainment?

Yeah, lots of ads and live plugs. I can't believe I forgot the betting "segments" with Christian Jansen, which are obviously another commercial. There's another couple of minutes each hour

Do you also feel conflicted when they play Pancake Parlour ads in the 'Fit and Well' hour?

..it is possible to be a gambler without being addicted. Majority of people are responsible with their gambling.....and know their limits.

I reckon he will. Granland did the same last year from memory, albeit only doing the sport news

I haven't listened to sen much lately since moving interstate but those changes are interesting.

The new run home looks diabolical and it goes for an hour extra. I think I would have reverted back to Francis and Ox in that slot and just worked to find a new combination for mornings.

Perhaps they are hamstrung with all the current presenters having contracts and they don't have enough cash to pay out Allen & co and bring new presenters in.

Also while not a fan of Maher I would actually give him a chance in that timeslot. The worst thing about Maher was his infatuation for Watson and his contrived ribbing of Gaze.

Harf+someone other than Allen in mornings, KB, Maher, extended run home with Francis and Ox, Finey.

I would have shuffled them that way.

This is how it was 'reported' on here at the time:

There was a huge story going around one day (I can't remember what), and someone integral to the issue became available for an interview very close to 7pm. Leach obviously wanted the interview (he was on from 4pm to 7pm), because it was a big story and a good get, but Beva apparently said, "what's the farkin point of having him on for 5 mins before 7 o'clock when I can talk to him for ages after 7 o'clock?!"

Leach did a short interview before 7pm, so a shit-fight ensued, and Beva was suddenly gone, I think the next day.

I have no life ... or both remembering this and typing it.
