really enjoying the Science of Sport.

3 relative unknowns compared to the highly paid profiled former footy players, and footy sucks.

educated, well spoken, educational.
Ditto.

One of my favorite podcasts and reckon its the best thing on SEN.

I don't think it's a load of baloney at all. At times, yeah they may be speculating or their advice may be proved to be outdated, but that just surmises the field of physiology and nutrition.

I think the biggest problem is that the field is so broad and there are so many specifics, that an expert in one may not have covered a topic in another.

I think the best thing about it, is that if they aren't certain, then they preface their discussion with that.

Not my cup of tea. I have been listening to mornings. For the first time in a very long while. Not just because the two Andy's are gone and matt G and moons are a good combo. But the ABC have Libby gore replacing red Symons. Ugh!
I've been listening on the way to work for the first time in a long time as well, the moment that moron Maher signed off from breakfast the moment my radio found SEN again in the morning. Moons and Matty are good and I do like Cat on a hot tin roof as a Cats fan.. Moons just admitting he was a ****wit early days :D

I wish he'd shut up about the 08 GF though. It was insightful for the first few times. But he's been going about that game for three years. The whole team except for Ablett played **** that day. He was destined to miss that easy attempt at half time after pulling one out of his bottom from the boundary line in the first quarter.

On another occasion. He said he intended to kick the goal and continue running through to knock Birchall's head off and start a brawl. But being stunned from missing that attempt, he didn't go on with it. I personally think it was a mistake to not knock Birchall's melon off anyway! Get it out of your system.

I hadn't noticed him talking about that..... as I must just block out any mention of that game

Overall Mooney is quite good but his anti-Hawks bias shows through quite clearly at times. For example the other day he accused Hawthorn of a PR stunt over who would be captain in 2016

I also think the longer he is away from the game the less he will have to offer. The first couple of years his insights into what it was like to be a player were interesting but the further he gets away fro his playing career the less relevant that will be. Not sure he has much else to offer. Seems like a nice bloke though :)

I remember watching her years ago on her Elle McFeast show and thinking she was pretty funny  - not sure if she's changed or I have. She's definitely turn off the radio material now. Even people I know who are die hard ABC listeners can't stand her.
I don't think she's aware how uninteresting/tedious discussion of her comfortable, upper-middle class existence is to most listeners

Well. Without making you angry. In hindsight, I thought the Hawks were doing a subtle PR campaign as well. As if the hawks are going to take the captaincy away from Hodgey? And for Lewis as well? Haha good one!

Nobody tells Hodgey what to do, including Clarko. He'll relieve himself of the captaincy when he retires from playing. Mooney's said they've become good mates after the GF.

The hawks got 2 weeks mileage out of it in the media. That stuff counts when they bring up total media content about themselves to prospective sponsors.

It was a media beat up. The Hawks did nothing. Lewis does a routine presser and a journo asks him about the captaincy. He says he is ready to take it on if the opportunity arises but also says he expects Hodge to retain it. No surprises there. As you said, no one in their right mind thought that it wasn't going to be Hodge, especially as he has consistently said that he wants to continue as captain. No comment from Clarko or anyone else at the club but the journo decides on the basis of Lewis saying he is ready to take over that he will be captain in 2016

Really? I find it a load of baloney. They are either stating the obvious or they have no idea and are corrected by listeners (i.e. the coconut water).

i feel coconut water is a fad, trend, like hipsters, and emos before them. sure there could be nutritional benefits, but so was that smart water. to each their own.

The thing about fitness/health talk. Is that there's often contradictory evidence, or what may suit one person won't suit another.

i was about to reply to bumpswithagrin about how everything they said is supported on the internet, and simultaneously unsupported.

its refreshing to have no direct sport discussed. changes things up.

Note to Libby Gore, I don't give a rats tossbag about your kids school plays, parties or anything else!!

She should get an award for the most smug person on radio (on the ABC that has stiff competition) - it's unlistenable drivel - I can't stand the use of the words "wireless" and "telly"

Scott Cooney took it to another level of banality with his endless Christmas songs this morning.Walking in a Winter Wonderland really defines the Australian Christmas experience, doesn't it Scott?!

All the Porsche Cayenne with baby seat brigade nod along in agreement at her desperately unfunny anecdotes
