Reading in the paper and on afl.com that Hawthorn offered Brad Sewell for Ryan Ferguson from Melbourne. It was a done deal however Ferguson didn't want to leave.
What were / are your thoughts on this proposed trade.
I thought we'd want to keep Sewell, he was great for us in the second half of the season.
Ferguson, I've only seen a little bit of him this year and he was ok but wasn't anything amazing.
I'm glad it didn't happen because Sewell could be a very handy player. If it involved Ball and Greene then it would be ok. :)

Also, whats your thoughts on T Gaspar from WC?

And Sewell could be used as a extra midfielder! His an exciting player for the future of the hawks..i was very dissapointed to hear that hawthorn was even thinkin bout trading him..his a tough nut and a very skillful player...

Ferguson..i think was a replacement for jonny hay!!but im glad the trade didnt work out bcoz sewell is going to be a good player next yr..

If he was available Gaspar could be good value - he's a genuinely big defender, v strong overhead. Has had problems with stress fractures in his feet but seems to have overcome them - he played some quality football for Sth Freo in the WAFL before getting two finals games for the Eagles.
Given the amount of posturing about player contracts that's going on he may end up staying with Wet Coast.

I really like sewell he has prooved he can play on the best players in the AFL and i am dissapointed to see hawthorn even considered trading our most improved player in the team

Agreed. We need Sewell.
As for T Gaspar - if he was available in the PSD he'd be worth a go, ready made replacement for Hay.

Crawfs brother, yes it is Justin, was a good player at WAFL level but he always lacked a bit of class.
