Work expenses are a rort and should go. Scrap them, scrap neg gearing, reintroduce cpi indexing of fuel, abolish middle class welfare and then you could have massive tax cuts for all.

First bit of common sense from the Nats in quite a while. He even admitted people rip off the tax zone allowance.

No problem with work expenses but you would also have to fix fringe benefits provisions if you got rid of them. But handing the money carte B to the Bush is stupid

Money gets hand carte blanche to every bloke and his dog by this and every other govt. Why would the bush be any different in demanding tax payers dollars? I would rather the bush get it than plenty of other places where its currently spent. Besides if you reintroduce CPI indexing of fuel it would proportionately hurt the bush more.
