Bit rich to hear the afl talk about 'fair' anything isn't it! Again tip of the hat to the steve's!

I know. I half expected the journo to include the AFL's 'fair' decision to send us to the Cattery for that final in 2013. Then I realised the journo was Caro and remembered her Vic-centric style of reporting that wouldn't see that angle.

$750,000? Does Steve think we're Collingwood? We barely make a profit. He's obviously confident of generating more revenue this year. It's understandable that the AFL would reject the offer. But I don't like how they talk about fairness when referencing scheduling and an interstate team though. It's clearly not an equal competition.

Wouldn't of cost us anything because it was an away game anyways and the Bulldogs will take the gate receipts (which was where the $750,000 came from). We will probably save on air tix and accommodations. Mute point really since there was no way the bulldogs would of budged (and rightly so, a-league can piss off)

I like Ross Lyon's little snipe at Geelong/AFL in the presser this week:
Were you happy to be playing at the 'G'?Happy to come here a little bit more often. We are happy to play Geelong here and a couple of others. It is really pleasing. Obviously, at the Saints I used to get here a bit more often. We have two for the year here. At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter, does it?

Certainly didn't miss it. It's just one more plank in a totally uneven AFL system. Reminded me of the little quip one of the commentators (can't remember which one) made at Eddie when he was talking up Kardinya Park in our game there earlier in the year, it was suggested he might wan to bring his Pies to the Cattery instead of forcing them up to the MCG every year. Eddie's response ... crickets.

IIRC it was Dwayne Russell and the shut up Eddie pretty quickly. Gold

It would be played at Docklands. Based on the fact that the Freo v Geelong game only got 32815 in 2013 and Bulldogs having a smaller membership, it would be unreasonable to expect the AFL to schedule a final with less popular teams at the G. Perhaps Whitten Oval may be available.

If the MCG was available I'd say it would be played there. See 2012 EF vs Geelong
Docklands is the Bulldogs home ground. They would want to play there. The 2013 final would have been played at Docklands but for Geelongs whinging.

Geelong do not like Docklands and would not play there given a choice.

I'm sure the Bulldogs would prefer to play there no doubt, whether the AFL would agree or not would be the issue.

Anyway it's not going to happen so there's no point worrying about it haha
