Who will play on the wing this season? seems to me they have an over-abundance of wingers.

Any AFL players that would consider a switch of codes. Great publicity. Would be suited to catching a high ball on the try line.

Jake Webster has got one spot cemented. The other is a toss us between Matt Geyer, Chris Walker and Steve Turner. Bellamy may choose to use Geyer in the halves more often this season which could give Walker the opportunity to cement the other wing spot, while Turner missed all of last season with a serious foot injury so I think he will start the season in Brisbane Norths.

A suprisingly misguided post from you Peter?

I would have thought that Geyer had his spot cemented, it would be between Turner and Webster in the short term for the other wing spot, with the other getting the other wing spot when Geyer retires.

Walker I see more as a reserve Winger/Centre - a stop-gap 'quality' replacement for most likely Inglis - who Bellamy wont want to overuse this year in case of a Sonny Bill Williams style injury curse on him too ...

They've got too many wingers.
You guys are forgetting Inglis too.

Inglis - winger by default, Webster, Geyer, Walker, Turner.
That's 5 wingers on 1 team, houston we have a problem.

Inglis is not a Winger, Full stop!

Webster has got hes cemented

It will be Walker vs Turner for Winger spot

as Matt Geyer will come off the bench as a Utility Back.

Disagree, Walker wont play a big part this season.

1. Slater
2. Geyer
3. King
4. Inglis
5. Turner
6. Hill
7. Cronk
8. White
9. Smith
10. Crossman
11. Kidwell
12. Crocker
13. Johnson

14. Kaufusi
15. Aubusson
16. Donnelly
17. Hoffman

When Cross returns from injury (for all that dont know he torn his ankle ligaments in last nights trial against Parra and will be out for 2 months now :(). I'd put him ahead of Donnelly on the bench ...

Who's Turner, i've never heard of him
Steve Turner, played a lot of representative football at a young age. Australian U18 player IIRC. Injury permitting, he is as talented as anyone in the Storm backline and should be able to seal a spot on the wing or at full-back. The only real certainty in the Storm backline is King in the centres. Slater is likely to play full-back - but Inglis and Turner's preferred position is also at full-back. Webster should get first crack on one wing, with Geyer on the other. Inglis will start with King in the centres. But things are likely to change throughout the season, with origin likely to take King and Slater out of calculations, and Walker also thereabouts. A lot will depend on whether Geyer can have a year like he did in 2005, or if his age starts to catch up with him. Injuries will also play their part. The wealth of riches that the Storm have in the backs is a total contrast to the shallow depth of talent they have in the forwards.
