mighty hawks
well we seem to have a pretty strong team in this week
Im not one to bag players BUT to see Aaron Lord still in the team is a bit dissapointing, i thought there were better players than him in the boxhill team last week, oh well the match commitee must have alot of faith in him.

i don't reckon rehn will play so i reckon BOF will get another go.
Good to see barks, JOHNSON, coxy, hazell back in.
Thought Lonie could have got a go though but otherwise good selecting by the hawks this week.

Carn the Hawks!!!

My best take on the typically cryptic Hawthorn line-up is to swap the half back line with the full back line and the half forward line with the full forward line. Then, swap Rehn for O'Farrell and it seems to make more sense...

McCabe Hay Graham
Tallis Rawlings Cox
Smith Harford Lekkas
Barker Holland Crawford
Croad Thompson Dixon
O'Farrell Vandenberg Chick
Lord, Johnson, Hazell, Bowyer

It seems to be a Hawthorn policy not to play all the young guys at once so it is no suprise to see Bateman, Clarke and Nicholls all go out for Hazell, Johnson and Cox in.

And the merry-go-round selections of those senior Hawthorn players who seem to be just making up the numbers continues with Bowyer in and Barlow out. And just when I thought they might be sticking with Kris. So it's Lord, Bowyer and Vandenberg this week.

Maybe these low-down players are suited to the wet. Just as likely there is no one else left. 13 of the 38 listed players are youngsters that leaves just 25 older players of which the Hawks need to pick 18 or 19 each week. With Rock now being too old, Obst left behind, Woods injured and Dent possibly suspended that leaves just 21 players- of which they have chosen 19.

If O'Farrell plays then Kris Barlow is the only one to miss out. A little unlucky I would think.

I think it's a good side....THE NUTTER IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats to Coxy on his senior recall - and looks like he'll be starting too which is fantastic.

Congrats as well to Tim Hazell on his senior debut, I think he can definitely make the grade.

Chance, Clarke and Billy all struggled last week, no surprise to see them go.

BOF will play for Rehn anyway, no dramas there.

Johnson should never have been dropped, had to get another go.
Bowyer seemed a bit lucky to me, I hope he has been working on his disposal! I though Lonie should have been picked instead, but he may get a go if Barks withdraws.

Barlow was also unlucky, at 27 he may be struggling a little bit for next season if he doesn't cement his spot soon.

And Lord, definitely lucky, although I notice he has been named on the bench this week....last chance perhaps?

All in all a good side, suited to wet conditions...maybe we can turn it around this week.
