give them a go at least - they have had many good weeks and not been rewarded on thier "vfl form"

Would like to see more of Nash over any of those young players mentioned above.

ah well, hopefully he puts in a big one for Bendigo this week.

Solly out injured but an emergency is interesting.

Surprised Heff has been dropped.

I hope Pev is in to tag.

Look a lot better with Lovett in, i just hope he's switched on.

And i still have this silly feeling we could win.

Have a feeling Heff will be a 'late inclusion'

Aren't we supposed to be "playing the kids" as all struggling clubs broadcast. Peverill has no future at Essendon and gets a game so he can be traded; and in the meantime we don't play a young kid. And no one wants Perverill anyway.

We are but you are so blinded with your Sheedy has done nothing right campain you obviously havnt realised that half the lineup has played less than 50 games.

From an outsiders POV....**** changes indeed......The future of the bombers lies with the youngsters so give them a run Sheeds!

That said you are only playing Freo.....Youll win :D

11 players in the side with under 50 games , yep we are running out the vetrans this week;)

that's 43 games too many when there's perfectly good 14 year olds dominating the junior leagues - they are the ones that should be getting the games.

ah, from what i can see, ryder and lovett are ins this week:confused:

i was listing the total list of INS - i knew they were in already

true - there is a limit of the amount of kids you can play

but to have PEV in front of jolley, heff is just plain stupid...

Firstly, I would have played Heff before Pev.

But why Pev? I can think of two reasons.

One, for his committment and dedication to the club, he probably deserves a final chance at proving his worth.

Two, with Solomon and Hird out we probably needed another senior body to give the kids some protection. For all Solly's shortcomings this season at least he made the kids walk taller and added some physicallity.

Three, he does have a pretty good record on Bell. Maybe, just maybe we are going over to win.

563 games of experience have gone out of the side.

140 odd games of experience have come into the side.

I'd call that playing young players.....

Pev got close to best on ground in the reserves didn't he? Aren't we rewarding players for effort any longer?

Pev is under contract and it probably has performance based payments in there. If he is playing good enough footy to make the team and he isn't played then its not fair on him and it doesn't set a good example for the rest of the side. Young players have to deserve their spot just the same as a senior player.

Thats it in a nutshell. You must reward form first and foremost. Of course if you are a Bullen/Haynes type of consistently fails at the top level, but is great at VFL, then perhaps you over look that. But then again, why would you have them on your list.

Also, do we need to play 18yr olds. really - do they gain much if they are just playing ok and then play senior footy. You have to look at the individuals to see who can handle the top level at this moment. I know I can't judge that.
