Awful that is.

Really hoping Aarons comes back fit soon - surely a better starting option than Sammy now

Armstrong was lively. Should have passed to Moussa but he had a good crack.

Yep, a few positives there despite the result at least. 6 local lads in the team shows the academy (though Colback we got for free of the scum) is starting to produce some talent. Armstrong looked really good when he came on - he's still only 17 which is hard to believe.

Perez's footwork is very impressive.

Aarons is nearing a return - think he knocked back a new contract offer though which is a worry.

Hope he repays the club and sticks around to develop his game. Still a long way off being a superstar just yet.

NUFC Tiger Glad I don't have work tomorrow either way. Hope scon is up for this one!
Nope just got home from town and finished watching it one minute ago.
What a shit result. It's becoming a bloody jinx game.I do admire Pardew's guts in going for the win and we were quite unlucky not to score but we did keep offering them chances and at that level you can't do that even with a team who're shit at finishing like Scumberland.
Shit result.

Alright, have finally shaken off the derby result (Christmas food and drink helped!) - hope you all had nice Christmases and didn't get any Scumberland merchandise from Santa! :D

Anyone see the MU game? I didn't catch it (probably for the best) as was away and had no access to a PC.

A positive to take from the game was that Armstrong became our youngest ever player to start a PL match. Hopefully has a bright future in toon colours to come. Has shown a stack of promise IMO.

Everton next at home. I think I read Abeid is out until February as well :(

Also, not wanting to damped this too much but saw the SackPardew folk put up this stat (makes for pretty sad reading):

Alan Pardew's record since Boxing Day 2013:

P38 W11 D6 L21 F33 A62 GD -29 Pts 39

Missed the Man U game - was staying at a friend's place and we were asleep before it started. First game I've missed. Will miss the Everton game too I think, I have work tomorrow :( might tape it...

Alnwick; Janmaat, Coloccini (c), Williamson, Dummett; Perez, Sissoko, Tiote, Colback, Gouffran; Cisse.

Subs: Woodman, Santon, S.Taylor, Anita, Cabella, Riviere, Armstrong.

Yet the man starts Willo and Gouffran - go figure! :drunk:

1-0 down after 5 mins FFS!

Riviere on for Cisse - Cisse could be in a bit of trouble from the FA for an elbow on Barkley I think.

Same here.
Sounds like a good game.
I was in and out looking at bits of the game and thought we were going OK,first half.Saw Williamson to Cisse goal;then succumbed to the fact that I'd been drinking since lunchtime and nodded off.
I'd be buggered without the next day replays.:oops:

Pardew gone to Palace, Carver in as caretaker.

Who will get the job? Coloccini the early favourite.

Don't think it's been confirmed yet - though the club have announced that Palace have made an approach and given permission for them to talk to Pardew. Plus the man has about 5 years left on his current deal (which is a lot for a manager to seemingly walk away from).

Very interesting though as he's been linked to the job about 3-4 times in the past and never had the club make an official statement about it confirming the rumours. As they say 'Where there's smoke, there's fire...'

Seen the Colocinni links - not sure how I would feel about that given our threadbare squad.

De Boer has been linked which would be my dream. Bruce may be tapped on the shoulder as he's on record of saying he'd love the chance.

Anyone but Joe Kinnear...

The Newcastle club statement read that 'Crystal Palace have offered compensation at a level whereby Alan has now been permitted to speak to them.' He's gone.

De Boer has already said he won't leave Ajax during the season, maybe one for the off-season merry-go-round.

Beardsley has some support and the usual names like Pulis, Bruce, Benitez and Sherwood have been mentioned. Galtier a possible chance.

Would be happy with someone like Carver or Beardsley until the end of the season and then they can go at the best available.
Colo managing makes no sense anyway, he never fronts the media and he can barely manage the defense, let alone the whole team.

Cashley doesn't do best available.
Compensation is about $Au 3.5 mill apparently.
I agree Carver or Beardsley and try to land someone like De Boer.
I can't see it doing the club any harm if Pardew goes and we go for a good rather than Joe Kinnear style of idiot appointment.
Fingers crossed.:D

Best news ever!!! Good riddance you flog, one of the most arrogant pompous wanks in the world.

Would like to see Lee Clarke attracted back to the club in some capacity, maybe not as manager although we could do worst.

My fanciful wish would be for AVB, De Boer or Guilter. In reality it'll be Bruce, Pulis ( unlikely ) or Mclaren. I don't think it's the worst thing to give Beardesly a go either, he has done a remarkable job with the under 21s and is obviously a legend of the club.

Until MA is gone there is no hope.

Coloccini now ruled out as next manager (apparently). Not all that surprising.
