Has there ever been a more significant turning point in a game (apart from Clinton King's attempt at centring the ball about 4 years ago which turned the game totally in Collingwood's way!) than Ray Hall's terrible error last night.

At about the 8 minute mark of the third Q, when we were 8 points up and with a gust of momentum at our backs, he took a great mark about 55 from goal. Instead of banging it down to Richo one-out, he stupidly tried to give off a dinky little handball to a heavily marked Nathan Brown on the run-past (maybe he shouldn't have even called it - maybe he didn't even call it?!).

Result - turnover for a goal ... followed by another quick one to put the Roos in front, followed by a devastating 45 minute barrage of 15 additional goals.

I'm certainly not blaming Razor for the horrible capitulation that followed his error ... that would be an even more damning indictment on the other 21 players.

But the stupidity of his decision-making on that occasion swung the match 180 degrees.

Compare it to Kane Johnson's lame effort of the final term. David King has marked 55 metres from the Roos goal (about where Ray was 30 minutes earlier, in fact). Probably just out of even Kingy's range.

So what does Johnson do ... takes the mark BACK towards the Roos goal by about 5 metres. In fact, his token jump on the mark was on the 50 metre line, allowing King to gain an extra 3 or 4 metres on his set shot run-up.

Not surprisingly, the ball sailed through with no more than two metres to spare.

Stupid Richmond.

yeah well posted ghost. our team seems to not be able to think before doing what is drilled into them. the kangas knew he would try and give it to browny and he did it anyway. its like the moronic bang it to richo. so we have another trick, quick handball to browny. well we just seem to have this problem of being way too predictable.

That was the turning point - but i can't blame Razer for the total capitulation.

They were absolutely pathetic - no wonder Archer was doing anything to play. North must absolutely luv playing us.

Gotta laugh really ... we have an uncanny knack of being able to run some very ordinary footballers into 120 minutes of pretty good form.

Ben Graham - 6 goals
Phillip Matera - 6 goals, and couldn't get a kick on Friday night
Sav - 8 goals
Neitz - actually a great player, but his only bag of goals this year ... you guessed it v. Richmond

Not to mention the likes of Peter Vardy, Ken McGregor, etc.. who we perennially manage to make half decent.

On my way to the game last night, I honestly said to my mate that would not be overly distressed at a loss, so long as we weren't smashed.

I was talking to a few of the North players after the game, and they were genuinely surprised at how easily our guys laid down in the second half.

Gaspar did a good job on Petrie, bad mistake of Spud to have him follow Petrie when he went to CHB.

Rocca is a 2 goal FF in his present condition/age, he just is able to smash an ordinary defender if there is plenty of room for him to lead into.

You know you are in trouble when McKernan is taking marks and kicking goals.

I was very surprised that the tigers didn't run out the game after a good first half and a promising start to the third quarter. I thought the game would be close like last year's game.

Sad to see the tigers play like this with what is a list full of good players. They just have no confidence.

I think we had too many people unchecked, too much zoning and too much dependability on Richo and Brown up forward.

I hope the Tigers can turn things around.

This was the turning point for me also. Just dont know why Frawley would get sucked into this move. You're supposed to flood the defence, not our forward line you imbecile.

The turning point - when Richmond appointed Danny Frawley
When Richmond drafted Paul Hudson and co. after making the prelim. the year before.
I could go on..but I won't cause I'll cry:(

I'm still laughing at supporters attitudes at the time, who posted on the boards that Hudson was a good pick up.

We need vision, and it doesn't come with hacks such as Hudson and old hacks like Dunc.

I guess some of us were living in the past. I thought at the time that Hudson could be good for us - didn't realise he was past it.
