By my very quick calculations... West Coast before and after changing their theme song are:

Before - 441 wins, 6 draws, 333 losses (57% win record)
After - 25 wins, 44 losses (36% win record)

Surely this wasn't the real club song?

I was too young for the era, but the crows were born by a VERY reluctant SANFL who only entered a team into the AFL to keep Port out. Doing so was monumental, as it meant they finally were admitting defeat in their centuries long battle with the old VFL.

So I am just assuming the SANFL did this out of spite. And money.

I always thought it was, but someone in the YouTube comments claims it was an “unofficial” song written by Toyota and the club adopted it.

Either way, I definitely remember seeing the boys singing it in the changerooms after a win, lol.
