Look, this part of the SC calendar year is fun. Every fringe player is a potential 'breakout', players are 'flying' pre-season and so many rookies seem to be training well that clubs will all be naming 12 debutants in round 1.

This is the thread for nothing of the kind. Give me your furrowed-brow cynicism. Talk about players like you're a hipster barrista who has just been asked if you have any Moccona behind the counter. Be merciless about the prospects of a player who has achieved more in the world of competitive sport than any of us here.

Brayden Preuss. He's made a career out of going to clubs with better ruckman than him, and GWS have two of them. In those rare moments he's not injured he moves with all the grace of a refrigerator on roller skates. He's about 8 sausages short of a Mumford, and in SC it seems with rucks you get what you pay for.

Surely DeGo is worth a look Moff? I don't get the love for Pruess but most of Collingwood's senior mids are either as old or as injured as I am. They've eaten a giant shitburger to keep him on the list so that to me suggests there is a player who is surely on his last chance and will be busting a nut....um...a gut anyway to prove himself all over again to his team mates, if not for anyone else. If he racks up those juicy scores from late last year then I'll have a piece of that in the fwd line for sure.

The Package . The package has a breakout year every contract year. Outside that, if he was a lollipop, he'd lick himself to death. Now he's got child support covered for the next 3 yrs , he'll put the cue in the rack for a while so to speak.

Wimpfield . Every year SC delivers this buttercup to us as a must have DPP at price we have to take. They do that for sinister reasons. He's in out in out and in and out of most SC teams each year , yet for some reason we still take it. Fool us.
