Bzzzzzzzzzttttttt, Wrong!

Is that the sound your boyfriend makes when you bang in from behind?

Regardless of the sounds your boyfriend makes, Andrew Mcleod is a Superstar of the AFL, if you talk about the Aura that Superstars have, well he has that in spades, his image inspires hordes of youngsters, he is the Rolls Royce, he is a Superstar, and you're a spud who knows nothing about Football.

Superstars win games, Rob doesn't.

Judd, Buckley and Hird can win you games

Do you know what your talking about mate, you don't win brownlows if you dont 'win games off your own boot', For example 2005 QF against adelaide 32 possies, 11 marks, 7 tackles and 3 goals, Even 2 weeks ago against Richmond (with the assistance of milnes bag of 7) picked up 26 possies, 12 marks and 2 goals. And this is a decade after his brownlow years

Make sure you run your answers past Zeke! :thumbsu:

I believe:
Champion - The best of the best, over all time. Only the very best. Ever. Here you talk about Barrie Robran, Leigh Matthews, Russel Ebert etc etc
Legend - Past/fading superstars, past players that aren't champions. Robert Harvey, Michael Voss, Richo(if you must) goes here
Superstar - Current cream of the crop. Judd, G Ablett, Franklin etc.

yeh but dude he didnt kick the winning goal.. didnt kick the left foot banana from the boundary line.. run over and hug a supporter.. you know.. the 'x-factor'.

____ his 32 hard worked possessions. thats not superstar worthy, just legend of the game.

I am going out on a limb here and say right now, there isnt one.

A couple retired last year.

Its a big title and should be reserved for just the very best. Those that turn it on with abo____e regularity and over a number of years.

Just as I said mate.

The 2 most likely to become one are Ablett and Franklin.

Judd is past his best.

well leigh colbert just called young chris mayne a superstar..

thats the problem with our media/commentators etc. they are quick to label a player as "one of the best", star, superstar, elite, gun, dead set gun.

from memory mark robinson was on SEN and they actually had a discussion on whta defines superstar etc. mustve been a slow news week.

I agree and the first few that came to mind were Hird, Carey, Lockett, Ablett Snr.

Afraid not.

Legend, yes. Superstar, no.

And I suppose you think that gimp in your avatar is worthy of it??

Rob Harvey = superstar. Can not doubt it. Maybe not right now, but over his 21 years, has def been a superstar. Hell, the way he's getting around now I'm still thinking he is one on current form.

AHAHAHHAHAHHAHHHHHAHHAHAHH, right-o. A 24 odd year old past his best... Didn't catch the first 8 games of last season before his injury?? Lol, haven't been watching him get back to form this year?

Shows how much non-geelong footy you watch

I'd say legend of the game is a better rating than superstar. Legend of the game is timeless, superstar's come and go.

Can they? They must be sliding under the radar because i don't see them on anyone's playing list.

No need to defend banger anymore, you mob have no clue. Go watch some of his games and then come back educated.

Wonder how many of Lockett's 1300 came from a kick from banger?

McLeod would be close. 2 Norm Smiths and a Michael Tuck, captained the Dream Team, Aboriginal All-Stars and Australia (co-captained), almost a Brownlow. 2nd best Crow of all time. He and Roo are the ONLY superstars we've had.

I could be sweet-talked into elevating Jarman from star to super, however, as his GF performances were awesome.

No way. Not anymore.

Maybe 5-10 guys in the competition deserve that tag - Brown, Judd, Ablett, Franklin, Scarlett.......a couple of others perhaps. That's it.

superstars at collingwood? burns, didak, leon, pendles, thomas, goldsack, marty clarke, cloke, medhurst, wellingham :D

ok, obviously not. but if one person from our list would be considered a superstar of the comp it'd have to didak. absolute champ, rarely puts a foot wrong (yes he missed from right in front against the roos), and a freak to boot. love him. plus there was a big banner on friday night "didak is a superstar". thats enough to convince me

Yet you think Ablett is, who hasn't achieved half of what Macca has in his career. A superstar needs to have played more than 2 or 3 great seasons.

Andrew Mcleod is a superstar no doubt. Not just being bias but he got Adelaide to the Grand Finals in 97 and 98 and then won them too, of course taking the Norm Smiths in both years.
Always stands up on the big occasion too!

When rating your teams players as superstars, ask yourself if they are as good as Hird, Buckley, Voss, Ablett, Dunstall, Carey etc of past generations.
Imo, thats the standard.

And no, Didak would not make the list.
