Brendan Fevola booted two goals but had little impact for his new side Brisbane as they lost to his former club Carlton by 16 points in their AFL practice match on Friday.
Fevola returned to the Blues' Princes Park headquarters for the first time since he was traded to the Lions in the off-season.
The forward kicked 2.3 in the Lions' 14.9 (93) to 12.5 (77) defeat, but was generally kept quiet by Carlton defender Michael Jamison.
His touches were greeted by an equal mix of boos and cheers by the 10,000-strong crowd early on.
But the boos took over as the game was in balance throughout the third and fourth quarters.
Brisbane led at the first three changes, before Carlton took control in the final term to win comfortably.
Carlton forward Eddie Betts booted three goals and was outstanding for the Blues, while Lions skipper Jonathan Brown managed three for his side.
Brisbane's win was tempered by what appeared to be another injury to luckless ruckman Jamie Charman.
After missing most of last year with a serious ankle injury, Charman went down early in the second quarter and was helped from the ground by trainers.

What are you talking about? The mistake in the title? And what does Caro have to do with anything?

I am also trying to figure that out as well.

The mistake in the title as well as ..................

Brisbane's win was tempered

Where did this article come from?

Can't seem to find it anywhere.

Followed the whole game on Twitter. Started whilstling the theme song when we won. Idiot Dickmond supporter workmate tried telling me the Lions won. Told him to stick it up his arse... sideways.

Looking forward to round 1 :)

The Richmond supporters are used to twisting the result of games. That's what being deluded does to you.

I wanted to say it then, but I'll say it now.

A lot of the problems that the print media have nowadays by trying to get their stuff up first and as quickly as possible is that these smaller quick news stories are written before the end of the actual game.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to have found out that the article was pretty much good to go at 3/4 time or early in the fourth quarter. Add in the score to the end of the first paragraph, etc. where it makes sense and post it as is.

Most amateurish scribes (most non-affiliated AP reporters are juniors making their way up to hopefully some day make it to a major newspaper) don't take the time to proof read their work for accuracy before it gets posted. It's merely a matter of save, attach, send/post.

It's only later when one of the web monitors notices the error that the article is re-done. Probably after several complaints.

Even a lot of the major journos are guilty of doing this. Ever read a game review that after the first paragraph suddenly seemed to launch itself into the third quarter? Then backtrack and then jump to the fourth? A simple case of writing the review as they're watching the game. You wouldn't think that but it's the way they have to work to make their deadlines (which for the most part aren't that long after the game and the press conferences - so you create a main body of your review leaving space for the presser, then you have it as you would).

I think some of it also has to do with key points in a match too; turning points and the most newsworthy moments don't rank in importance one after the other.. the most newsworthy moment could be about a fight in the second quarter, then an amazing goal by Betts in the last, then something that happened in the third quarter.. etc. etc.
