Great to have a good win on Jako's big day.
Some positives again-
Selwood is getting better and better and when he gains some more match fitness will add another dimension to the first 22.
Nicoski - this guy is just all class and he has a cool head - love his raking left-footers.
B. Jones (Spinner) is a strong, hard at it footballer who is slotting in nicely in the back half and he adds a bit of height as well.
Staker has great sticky hands and is now taking 6-8 marks a game - just what the Doc. ordered - will get better and be a very polished forward.
Gasper is starting to build some games and is taking grabs. Still lots to come from him.
So our young guns are starting to come up trumps - their best is still far away, but we are looking good. Later, add Butler and McConnell and we are moving into a new exciting phase at the WCE.
I would not be surprized to see Jayme Graham come into the team to replace Jako - he could be a good match up on one of StK's tall forwards. He also will be a good-un.
Looking forward to next weeks game now.

Can anyone tell me if Spinner copped a bit of an injury in the game against Swans - I didn't see much of him in the 2nd half?

Nice list but I feel we are still one or two quality players short of a shot at a premiership.

the premiership is not a realistic target this year, but giving the finals a shake would be.

Jones has been the rookie of the year for mine on the back of his first 2 games.

Nikoski will get better with his decision making at the highest lever

Selwood is a trier and this may work against one Jeremy Humm.

Staker is good as a flanker and pinch hitting CHF

Lynch could play at either end but Gasper will get better with every game

Johnson or Graham should get their chances and wouldn't mind to see what Hansen can offer in the blue and gold

Jones for the coast for sure but if your talking AFL clearly it would have to be Aaron Davey (dees). He has been better than any of the top ten draft picks of 2003. How does someone like that slip through the system. Super-long shot for the Brownlow.

Terrific to see him back on the park. I'm concerned for him though. I've thought it for a while and Peter Wilson hit the nail on the head during his commentary on Saturday. Gaspar contributes to his own injuries a far bit, because he hasn't mastered the art the falling. When he falls, he goes down in a twisted heap - he doesn't land well at all. It is a skill, and its a skill that all footballers need to do well, or they increase their risk of injury when they take the field ten-fold.

Personally I fail to see how the way he lands awkwardly contributes to ongoing hamstring problems.

But yes he does land in a most unco-ordinated fashion at times at im sure it doesnt help the risk of other injuries
