Third Quarters

[Fight For It]

This year I have the misfortune of having to consistently work Saturday afternoons, which rules me out from going to the Saturday matches at 1:45, 2:45 or 4:40.

Anyway, I have happened to have the time to check the scores at around quarter time and half time, and then gotten to watch the last quarter in each of the three rounds so far.

Can someone explain to me what in the name of holy christ is going on with our third quarters?

RD 1 - 6.5.41 to 1.4.10 - Margin: -31
RD 2 - 8.6.54 to 2.0.12 - Margin: -42
RD 3 - 9.3.57 to 1.0.6 - Margin: -51

We have been utterly destroyed in each of our third quarters so far in the match. We would have been right in each of the three matches but for these third quarters.

Are they giving the player's sleeping pills at half time or something? Has anyone noticed anything about the way we are going about it after half time that is leading to us getting completely blown out of the game?

The first thing my under 9 coach said to us was 'the 3rd is the Premiership quarter', lose that and you will not win.

Used to happen under Bailey too. In fact we always seemed to show something in the second and fourth quarters. What goes on in the rooms?

What annoys me about our third quarters is... what changes? Clearly we are playing okay in the first half yet we come out and get smashed. Is it psychological or are the players not fit enough yet?

Take away our third quarters and we haven't been that bad of a side this year to a certain extent. It's definitely something Neeld and the coaching team will be working hard on in the coming weeks.

There are probably many factors but fitness is still one of them.

Didn't Neeld say it would take 2 yrs before we are up to scratch?

Get on the Quarter Quad for Dees games, you can't go wrong... such a tiresome and repetitive pattern.

Something needs to change in terms of half time... do they all break up for 5 minutes to talk to their WAGS and have a quick ciggy or what?
