OK, now I'm peeved. Just read the AFL site and Luke Penny has been nominated for rising star. HELLO!!! I can think of one player who deserved it above him and his name is Brett Johnson. Penny apparently had 12 possessions; well isn't that wonderful. Jonno had approx. 25 possessions and was in the end the only player willing to create something. Penny played more games than Jonno last year and is older, therefore, making Jonno eligible, yet, somehow, not even a mention.

But all is not lost. Perhaps this week Jonno can get 40 possessions, kick 6 goals and win the game for Hawthorn and I can guarantee that another player from another club will get nominated for running through the banner without touching the sticky tape.

Not taking anything away from Luke Penny, he is going to be a good CHB and did a good job on the weekend....BUT Brett Johnson was very stiff not to get a nomination after the WCE game where he gathered 30 possesions and probably wouldn't have even been on the ground for 3 full quarters. Then on saturday night he played about 3 quarters again, got 25 touches and was the only Hawthorn midfielder who looked likely to do anything after half time. You can't compare the 2 players because they are totally different but there is no doubt that Johnno has been very unlucky. Port01, you can see Johnson for yourself this weekend. ;)
