"I think he's doing a great job!" - Grant Thomas.

Has been talking to Rucci - he had an unexpected outpouring of admiration for Craigy on AA the other day. Joint effort to undermine the club no matter what we do about NC???

The other time was the overreaction to banter at the footy?

I also agreed with that. What a joke. What a perfect thing to say to an opposition player! Just like when I yelled at Riewoldt lining up earlier in the year and taking an inordinate amount of time, 'Oi Nick, whatcha waiting for? Someone to take a photo?"

Very good I got half a reaction from Neitz at the MCG final 2002. He got moved to FBACK in the first and I shouted out are you on work experience Neitz. He started to turn to where I was sitting.

Back in the 80s I had some great days bantering at the footy. Like he said if it's done correctly it's funny and good stuff.

:D That's a classic!

For anyone who has watched Thomas before he has always had it in for the Adelaide Footy Club, Neil Craig and our list...... Now that we are being flogged he say Craig is doing a great job.... Please.... Media trolling at its best...

As much of a w***er as Thomas is, he knows footy..... No one with half a brain coud say Neil is doing a wonderfull job.

The smirk on his face that he could hardly control said more than anything that came out of his mouth.

Very much this. It'd be like Luke Darcy saying we're travelling well.

So what of those people with a full brain?

I guess with only half a brain they have difficulty saying anything

I think anyone who has been a senior coach it is fair to say " knows footy". I think Thomas, having denied Neil in the 1st Elimination final at Adelaide in 2005 has never rated Craig very highly.... But bag Thomas all you like, I can not stand the guy, but I think we should rate his football knowledge over our own, at the very least

The only person Grantley Thomas rates highly is himself, so Neil shouldn't lose to much sleep over what this nuff-nuff says....

Sure Neil hasn't covered himself in glory the last 2 years, and most likely his time is up but please to put any credence at all on what that buffoon Thomas has to say is a bridge too far for me!!!

I agree, just because he was a pretty average coach doesn't mean he doesn't know his footy. Might as well say Michael Voss doesn't know his footy then.

I'm not convinced he was an insincere in his praise of Craigy as some people are making out.

Didn't he pen an article on the weekend as well re: craigy? (or mentioning him at least?)

Thought I heard this somewhere - may have to track it down.

It was in the Sunday Mail. Don't think the article made it on line.

LOL

So the same analogy doesn't apply to Neil Craig too????

As footballers no comparison whatsoever, Neil Craig was an absolute top shelf player, Grant Thomas at best was a honest trier. Neil Craig regularly represented SA in interstate games including captaining us in 1984, 319 SANFL games, Captain at Sturt....Grant Thomas - Nil Vic state representation, 83 VFL games. Neil Craig's current W - L record STILL far better than GT's, even after an ordinary season last year and this year's disasterous results.

Even though I think Neil's gooone please don't bring anything that the bitter old man Grantley Thomas brings up as having any value!!!

You may be right, I just struggle to believe him.

Russell Ebert was a great player

A few weeks ago Thomas was calling him "professor Craig" and saying that the only way he would part company from Adelaide was in a wooden box.

I think he is throwing support behind Craig to be contrary.

He hates being part of popular opinion. It doesn't fit with the media persona he is manufacturing for himself.

Still called him the professor last night as well. I totally agree with your comment on his media personality - he wants to be controversial in an attempt to appear insightful, and sometimes may be lucky enough to get it right. (takes one to know one...).

His use of 'professor' was much less scornful and more affectionate that it was when commenting on the coffin.
