Thomas out Beams in

COLLINGWOOD'S Dayne Beams will make his AFL debut against Melbourne on Saturday due to the late omission of utility Dale Thomas, who is suffering the flu.

While Thomas will be a loss for the Pies, the change does give an early opportunity to Beams who showed some impressive form during Collingwood's NAB Cup campaign.

Beams was drafted at 29 overall in the 2008 NAB AFL Draft from AFLQ club Southport, after opting not to sign with Gold Coast.

Speculation that key forward Anthony Rocca would be rushed in, despite not being named as an emergency, have not eventuated.

I'm not a happy camper! The speculation over Pendlebury's health had us all concerned some what and out of the blue Thomas is dropped? Very odd indeed...

Thomas's run and carry would have been very useful. He was tremendous last week.

Just an asumption. Because he was talking about Dale Thomas not playing in his SC side and then the next sentence was Sidebottom not playing.
