as a cats fan i had to sit thru gary ayres stuff our club around and as like u we havebnt had a flag in decades which is why Thomas must go now.

U guys have a great list one that is ageing and is window is closing fast, players like peckett, harvey, Thompson, Hudgton, Hamill etc are all getting on in years and its now or never for u guys.

If we don't win a flag i'd like u guys, melb or Dogs to win as we have been thru so much pain.

I just can't understand how a organisation can have someone in charge that isnt up to standards, i know this topic gets mentioned all the time but Thomas is a tool and has to now do the right thing and step down, how he let Thompson get away with playing loose man in ya 5o last nite is beyond me, surely he sends someone down to man up milburn and drag him away from the play to create space for Roo and g-Train, must admi i havent seen so many angry supporters as i did afer the game and Grant Thomas was centre of all conversations

anyway as i said thats just my take, i want to see u guys reach ya full poterntial but wioth thomas there i guess u guys will never know how far u could of went under a better coach

I think they are pretty similiar myself.

Both have developed a good list and can come up with a specific plan to beat an opposition but when it comes to match day and in game tactics when things are going wrong, forget it. If I had a choice I'd still take Thompson, just ;)

Thompson just copied the ****ty game plan from Fremantle when they defeated us at Skilled last year.

We needed the win to get our season back on track, so I accept the game plan for this week and maybe next v. the pies, if it continues Thompson can leave. A couple of errors playing like that and the game is over, what if Reiwoldt hadn't hit the post? the momentum was with the saints, for further evidence see quarter 4 v. the swans in the semi final :( Thompson played a massive role in losing us that game.
 
Stop blaming Thomas, yes he's not the best coach but neither are the players.
More than half of them are overated, have potential but havn't proven themselves yet.

We have MAYBE 2 Great players while the rest are moderate or just crap.
We don't have that great a list and teams such as West Coast will always beat us.

Superstars in Riewoldt, Dal Santo
Top line players : Ball, Gehrig, Kosi, Hayes, Baker, Macguire, Hamill

We have the talent, that isn not an issue. What we are lacking right now is direction. Direction from the coaching staff. We looked like deers caught in the headlights, whenever we face a flood. We do not know where to go, or where to kick to.

Until Grant Thomas comes up with something better than what he are currently doing "lets just bomb it long and hope" then we wont get any closer to the flag than we have done in the past couple of seasons.

If he isn't he best coach, then we deserve the one that is going to be better.

I wont and no one else should, accept a mediocore performance from this team. They are a hell of a lot better than that.
 
maybe your list is not good enough. Maybe this is almost the best the Saints can play.

Here are your top players:

Rievoldt - has got the kicking yips
Kosi - never fit
Hamill - never fit
Gehrig - inconsistent
Ball - injured atm
Hayes - terrific
Dal Santo - fantastic
Maguire - overated
Max H - very good
Harvey - still a good player

So out of these 10, 4 are playing good, 2 are constantly injured and another 2 are up and down.

Then there is Baker who is reliable and does a good job. Fischer is ok.

So what about the 2nd stringers. They are all average:

Milne, Akland, Blake, Murray, Fiora, Peckett, Gram, etc, etc, etc.

You just haven't got the depth of Adelaide or WCE.
 
Dont know how much a Richmond supporter should be taken seriously !!!!

But my threads ALWAYS have great headliners :D this thread is the same and calling for Thomas' head, but lacking the headline punch so its not hidden....

The cats don't have the raw talent which the saints have and yet are better developed and better coached than the Saints. Thompson would have a much better chance of success than Thomas. There are 15 teams supporters that are really thankfull that Thomas is your coach. Simply get rid of him, employ a decent coach and win a Flag
