I know he gets plenty of accolades but I am really suprised no one has mentioned his efforts on Friday night. I thought it was his best game for the club. He was one of the few players that played four quaters but the thing that impressed me most was his motor. All those idiot opposition supporters who think he is just a HFF will be eating humble pie. He looks to have improved his endurance 100% on last year. When the game was still in the balance with 5 or 6 minutes to go it was Thomas who was running the hardest to get into the right spots on the ground. There was nothing for the highlights tape just good hard running all night and good clean use of the footy.
Thomas is impressing me more and more every week.

He was excellent. Got a lot of it and is winning the dual with Pendlebury marginally. Pendlebury got less of it but his 2 goals were very handy. I have a Hawthorn supporter friend who thinks he may step up a couple of times per year but otherwise not do much. I disagree wholeheartedly based on his 'big match' history. Friday night was another big match result.

if he was a bigger build like roo or bucks which he wont, he would hurt a lot of players with his attack, good to see him play like that,
the idiots are still waiting for him to fall so they can hound us for our picks ie not picking Ellis

He was the first player to lift us before Rocca and Co got going. I havn't seen flair through the middle like that at Collingwood for a very long time.

He is a little gem, of course he will make a few mistakes here and there but overall you can just see he is a step above a lot of players out there. He puts his head over the ball and battle very very hard. He and Pendles will always be rated together as they were drafted at the same time but both are going to be around for a long time.

Two words: one percenters.
Am constantly in awe at this little blokes effort off the ball, particularly his shephearding and following up. Add this to his obvious skills; most exciting prospect since dids.

Agreed, his chasing is very impressive. Seems to want to do his best always. Not one to put his head down and mope if things aren't going his way ala Richo. His maturity is impressive also for a young bloke.

One Percenters Indeed.

I can live with the mistakes he makes, as his efforts around the ground, chasing etc... are fantastic.

How much do you think he learnt last week when playing on possibly the best player going around at the minute.

Have watched X Ellis the last few weeks, and it's very early for him, but I am stoked we picked Thomas over him. Ellis just doesn't look like a footballer to me. Whether it's the way or runs or what it just doesn't look right.

Ellis will take a while before he has much impact on the game. For now he will be solid at best from looking at him. He may be around the same wieght as Thomas but he is also a fair bit taller and lankier and gets pushed off the ball way too easily but still isn't afraid to get in and under from what little I've seen.

Thomas was outstanding for us and wouldnt surprise me if he picked up the 3 votes, he stood out like a beacon all night. His field kicking is coming along in leaps and bounds... by the way how good is dane swan!?!

He was a spark against North, never stopped trying vs West Coast (although he wasn't that good) and actually marshalled the midfield on friday night.

I have two more words about him: "class" and "leadership".

Myth: Thomas is not a midfielder.

Myth busted!

Eeew, now I have a mental image of Jamie and Adam firing chickens at Thomas out of a huge air-cannon.

As I sat in the stand surrounded by Dogs fans in that disastrous final that so dramatically exposed our list I said to my misses, Thoms is the only bloke out there who looks like he cares. I am sure others cared too, but only Thomas really looked it. We were down and out and Thomas kept throwing himself in with enthusiasm. I was already a fan but he won me over forever that day. When you are down in finals you find out ho is Billy Picken and who is Chris Tarrant.
