1. Mark Ricciuto- The Club's longest serving captain is also the team's best player and one of the great midfielders of the modern era. Last year was named All- Australian captain for the second succesive year, as he was selected in the team for the eigth time and the fourth season in a row. On track to play his 300th game in 2006.
2. Simon Goodwin- The star midfielder won his second Best and Fairest in 2005 and was named in the All- Australian team for the third time. A long kicking left footer, the 29 year old was second in disposals for the Crows (546 at 22.75 per game), fifth in marks (107) and booted a handy 20 goals.
3. Nathan Bassett- The unsung key defender took his game to a even higher plane in 2005, not only continuing to keep in check some of the biggest names in the game, but also providing plenty of run and rebound as well. His 376 disposals at 15 ranked eighth for the Crows and he was third in marks (120). A deserving runner up in the Best and Fairest.
4. Ben Rutten- One of the compettion's success stories of 2005. He backed up his solid form in the second half of the 2004 at full back to be named there in the All- Australian side last year. Played every game and finished 3rd in the Best and Fairest as he regularly blanketed high profiled spearheads and won plenty of the ball himself.
5. Andrew McLeod- Is one of the most talented and decorated players in the AFL, with his graceful running and pin point delivery igniting his team on a weekly basis. Currently leading the team for consecutive games (81) the star utility ran fourth in the Best and Fairest and co-captained Australia in the International Rules series in 2005.
6. Tyson Edwards- A wonderful consistent running player for the Crows who last year was the team's highest possesion winner (554), which ranked him 10th in the AFL. Was noticed by the umpires as well, with an equal fifth in the Brownlow Medal with 16 votes. Ran fifth in the Best and Fairest after 3 years in a row of placings.
7. Ian Perrie- Robust centre half forward with a great work ethic and an appetite for every contest. One of five Crows to play all 25 games in 2005 and established himself as the side's go to man, leading the team in marks (146, which was equal 11th in the AFL) second in the goals (39), and a seventh in the Best and Fairest.
8. Martin Mattner- Has developed steadily into a run with player of the highest order. and one who can find plenty of the ball of his own accord. Led the team in tackles (98) in 2005 but also seventh in disposals (382), which he gathered at an average 16 per match. Finished a creditable eighth in the Best and Fairest.
9. Scott Thompson- Exciting ball carrier who displayed in 2005 why Melbourne was so dissapointed to lose him at the end of 2004. Ninth in the Best and Fairest after accumulating 433 disposals (fifth for the team) at 18 per game. Booted 27 goals, which was fourth for the Crows and was second in tackles (96).
10. Ken McGregor- Key position player who is comfortable at either end of the ground. Although last season he made his home up forward. Had a terrific finals series, being the team's leading goal scorer with 9 in 3 matches, and finishing with 31 for the year. Was also second in marks (123) and ran 10th in the Best and Fairest.
11. Brett Burton- Athletic, high marking winger or flanker who is hard to match up on because of his running capacity coupled with his aerial ability. Missed four matches last season after injurying a hamstring in round one, but returned to enjoy a strong campaign in which he finished 6th in diposals (398) and 8th in marks (105).
