One thing that concerned me watching this game was Thompson was on the bench at the start of the 4th quarter. Im not sure how long it was until he came on, but assuming he came on 3 or 4 mins into the quarter, I saw this as a critical moment in the game. Richmond kicked 2 goals (from memory - at the start of the 4th), while our best midfielder was on the pine. Not saying it wouldnt have happened had he been on the field, but we didnt give ourselves the best chance.

I understand that players are rotated quickly but the game is in the balance, they had everything to play for and to start the 4th, you want your best midfielder there to set the tone for the final quarter.

Anyone else notice this?

Yes I saw this. The only thing I could think of was that they were trying to get him away from Daniel Jackson so were going to sneak him on after a couple of minutes so that Jackson wasn't with him from the first bounce onwards.

Seems backwards to me. Very defensive minded. And that's how we play when faced with pressure so maybe this type of thinking is endemic through the entire football department.

With 57% effectiveness and 5 clangers being on the pine is the best position for this spud, never ever make this clown captain EVER.

I saw it at the time, wasn't sure if it was to break a tag, or if Thompson might have picked up a niggle. Seemed unlikely it was to break a tag, since I really hadn't seen him tagged much - he spent most of the game shoulder to shoulder with Tuck, Jackson was tagging Vince.

Speaking of clowns...

Speaking at AFC YES men..................if you want clanger king as your captain with 57% effectiveness and 5 clangers then your a braver man than I, look at the stats please look at the stats:rolleyes:

So who should be captain then?
You also seem to use lots of stats all the time...
HMMMM just like a poster we all know from Bay 13...
Are you DONE yet;)

OK...how old are you? because if you're a teenager, then you can be forgiven for thinking you know every ****ing thing.

PS need to add that your post is the most poorly considered post I've ever read on this board. NFI

Put me with whom ever you want from Bay 13 but I am no Port imposter, those are the stats open the paper and read them 57% effectiveness and 5 clangers from the future captain.............god help the AFC:thumbsd: add in 18 uncontested possesions, I hope he didnt burn five of his uncontested possesions, he would to have burnt three of them because he only had 3 contested possesions, Thompson nothing more than an outside front runner.

This is one of the worst posts I've ever read TBH. Thompson is not a spud, he's one of our best players at our club. Most players would have struggled in the windy conditions yesterday anyway so 57% efficiency isn't that bad in the scheme of things. He may not have the best disposal but it ain't shocking either. I would be more than happy for Thommo to be captain next year, his leadership qualities are possibly the best at the club.

So all the young players have gambling issues now because we appointed Goodwin as captain, or are all stiring trouble at the Ramsgate because we had Roo as captain too? What's your point?

Your lucky Big Footy doesn't have a "Tool Of The Week" Award, because, you sir would be a long odds on to take it out!!!

What I find hilarious is most of what I say is pretty much spot on the money, always has been, just takes time for Adelaide simpletons to figure it out:thumbsu:

Goodwin was already Captain before the Gambling came out so it wasnt known prior to his appointment.
