Few things that stood out in my mind here. And I don't care if any Bomber fan reads this, I'm gonna have a whinge.

For one, with the push and shove at 3/4 time, every Melbourne player ran in, even those on the bench (minus Bell) and then you'd see no Essendon player in any hurry running from the bench. Weak as piss if you ask me, it was pointed out on radio, good call Tony Shaw on that one.

Brucey being tripped and not being called for it, absolutely shocking, worst call of the match.

Oh and call me a coward but I'm not gonna say this on the main board simply cause I'll get castrated for bagging everyones lovechild but FFS, the frees Hirdy got, especially the ones off the ball where the ump called it from 90 meters away, my lord...Sometimes there ain't no justice in this world.

Fantastic to see Newton in the game. The forward line seemed a lot more stronger in structure having Newton, Neitz, Robertson and of course Davey down there. Aaron should not drift further outside the half forward.

Lastly, I'm so happy that we came back the way we did. A typical Melbourne team would have collapsed and thought about what they were gonna do Saturday arvo. Most players we seem to roast here, Johnstone, Bruce, Green to an extent, and Robertson slacked off too in the first half, they all put their hands up and went in head first. Especially Greeny being flattened then getting back up. Bater was playing a shocker then imposed himself on the game as did Syl. Jones and McLean were consistent as always. Did anyone notice Brock kicking the shit out of that plastic chair having coughed up the ball which resulted in a goal? Future captain, love it. Biz by no means should be crucified for the belting he copped from Lucas simply because our gameplan went out the window as soon as Bell injured himself. Best of lucky Bell in his recovery. Also Aaron stood up which I though equaled his brother on the night.

The season is over well and truly. Get Buckley into the team as well as maybe the young indigenous boys Weetra and Hayes if they're up to it. Maybe give Neaves a couple of runs? What's the story with this Neville kid?

Last night quite possibly was the worst loss I've seen given the circumstances, it upset me greatly but now we've hit absolute rock bottom the only way is up my friends.

Great to see Newton given most of the game on the ground, something Garland wasn't given earlier in the year, just gives them confidence that you are backing them in, good to see.

Sylvia was very good, more of that please Col, better than McLean last night (whose mistake in that last quarter was inexcusable, nothing wrong with putting it through Brock), he will learn.

Neitz was inspirational, he is the only leader at this club at the minute.

In Brocks defense, he slipped over on the infamous turf. They pointed that out on AW

Shouldn't have been trying to take them on at that stage of the game, especially considering where he was on the field.

Take the point and possession.

You can't say you were the only unlucky ones. Remember Lloyd's Mark that wasn't paid. Umpires always make mistakes, so u can't blame a loss on the umpires. It's disgraceful that u created this thread.

Learn to read mate, he was having a good old fashion whinge and good for him for doing so, you'd be doing it if the result went the other way, and not at one stage did he blame the loss on the umpires, he simply pointed out that the Bruce call was a shocker. I don't see how you can call a bloke disgraceful for creating a thread on thoughts about the game, and most of his thoughts were not on the umps anyway. Piss off back to your own board.

Too bad you weren't around this time last year to have read some of the similar stuff on your board.

Every club has their down years, we are having ours and the fans are frustrated. It's only natural.
