Great Mark , as proven with that spekky last year , 190 + cm Tall , and played as a forward his entire Junior Career and 1sts for Southport. I think he is going great guns down back and has worked hard to learn backline play but I think he is an option up forward if other players go cold during the year and other players play their way into form into the back line. Be interested to hear your thoughts

If we're talking in the Pav/J Brown power CHF sense, no.
If we're talking in the Robert Murphy mobile CHF sense, again, no.

He has a go but from what I've witnessed Luke's a player of limited talent.

He could perhaps pinch hit there but will absolutely never hold down that pozzy.

The game needs to be kept simple (spoiling and running off) for RFC to get the best out of him and plonking him at CHF is definitely not keeping it simple.

look, if we were absolutely no chance of making the 8 you might try him there for a quarter and see what happens, but otherwise, no.

I think PuntRoadHammer hit the nail on the head.

Personally I think Polak has to be the man here. Big, reasonably mobile, and a terrific mark, contested or otherwise. Sure he can't kick for shit, but you can work on that, and he'll be up the ground anyway.

Anyway, it's all just temporary while we wait for Andy Collins to bulk up a bit and play the key forward role, right TT?

You need a CHF that demands the ball. I couldn't see Luke becoming this. All the best CHF's always demanded the ball however if our mids were running into the foward line I think McGuane would be well down on the pecking list on who they would want to kick it to

Thats exactly right Haggard , he'll be massive at the start of 2009

Much rather Bowden there if we're filling a need. He's smarter, better skilled and can actually play there.

McGuane needs to focus on cementing a place in the side and making the 3rd tall down back his own lest someone like Rance or JON come through and replace him. Whilst I like his hardness at the man and the ball at current his skills are substandard and I'd much rather be trialing Hughes or Riewoldt in the CHF possie to see if they have the makings of a great or are just going to coast along.

I think McGuane or Raines might be "our" guy to go to the Gold Coast in 3 years time. By that time, we should hopefully haev Rance or JON to fill his spot in the side

I dont think the idea is as bad as it sounds.. I havent personally seen him play in a forwards role, however have heard he was very solid in his junior days.

However as a few have stated, he needs to have the support of his team mates wanting to kick it to him. Also knowing Luke won't stuff it up...

So theres a few advantages / disadvantages, but it (the idea) can never have a line placed through it with out a try out.

Reiwoldt, Hughes are the young ones I can see becomming the next CHF types, ahead of Mcguane. I'd probably put Moore ahead of Mcguane too.

But the idea isn't a bad one.

There's something you don't see on BigFooty everyday!

I think Moore is the last person i would throw forward. Hes just coming into his own as a backman. Riewoldt, Polak, Schulz, Hughes, Putt, Gourdis...in that order...are our current forward options. Hughes, i hope, will jump ahead of polak and schulz as a forward, because schulz and polak are both more versatile so unless he makes his mark hes going to lose his spot in the team in 1-2 years.

LMAO at McGuane playing the most difficult position on the ground.

Full marks for effort, zero for decision making.
