You're well entitled to hold a wrong opinion.

A wrong opinion, in your opinion? I think your opinion is wrong.. See i can do it too :thumbsu:

I'm quite prepared to admit that Rod Jameson knows far more than I do about football - and as such his opinion holds far more weight than does my own.

I'm not doubting his footy knowledge at all. My point was just because an 'average supporter' has a different opinion to the 'experts' doesn't mean that they're clueless monkey and their opinion is automatically incorrect. Half the experts in the AFL circa don't really know much at all except what others tell them.

Davis has go-go gadget arms. :D You think he's too far away to provide a contest but he manages to get a touch on it to spoil. The most impressive thing for me about him is his ability to stay calm even when under immense pressure. That's pretty rare for a kid his age, isn't it?

In many cases you are correct - particularly for the Victorian based journalists who only see the Crows play on rare occasions. However, Rod Jameson commentates on every Crows game and knows the team inside and out. I respect his opinion on Adelaide's players far more than I would Mike Sheehan, Robert Walls or similar commentators.

Depends Vader... often when we look at our own mob too closely we are prone to mis-placing their value relative to the competition. I don't listen to Rod the God these days so don't know if he might do this or not.

It's not about overestimating Stevens' value relative to the rest of the competition. It's about Jameson's judgement as to whether or not Stevens played well in a particular game of football, a game in which he commentated, well enough to be listed amongst our best players.

My opinion is that Stevens has had one good game of football all season, that being the Essendon game last weekend. On most previous occasions the only "best players" list he may have made would have been our opposition's. Even against Essendon I wouldn't have included him as one of our best players, given the "all played well" nature of the win.

It has also yet to be verified that Jameson ever did in fact state that Stevens had been amongst our best players in those game. For now, that remains an unsubstantiated claim by NTRabbit.

North Melbourne, Brisbane, and Essendon

Unconscious against Fremantle (r1).

Poor against Port, Richmond, St Kilda and maybe Melbourne (r13).

OK/Serviceable against Hawthorn, and Fremantle (r11)
Noone was good against North. That has to be about the most spineless game in the club's history. A bloody embarrassment.
