Just spent a week on the Gold Coast chilling out and, of course doing the standard theme park run that we all do. Hadn't visited Dreamworld for about 9 years and since then they have added quite a few new rides.

What are some of your favourite thrill rides? The Lethal Wepaon at Movieworld? The Giant Drop? The Tower of Terror? The Wipe out? Thunderbolt? Cyclone? I love the adrenalin rush you get from these rides. Anyone got any particular favourites? The Scooby Doo spooky coaster anyone? :o

1) Giant Drop: Gave me the biggest rush of all the rides (bungee jumping is better though  )
2) Lethal Weapon: Can't remember much about this ride because
it was travelling at a very high speed. However I do remember that it was an awesome experience (wasn't it inverted or something?)
3) Corkscrew: Good value considering the queue wasn't as long as some of the other rides.
4) Tower of Terror: Overrated... Waited for about 40 minutes in the queue but the ride only lasted for what seemed like 2 minutes. I must say, travelling at such a high speed was exhilarating.
5) Cyclone: Similar to the corkscrew but waiting in the queue for an hour wasn't worth it IMO.

I hope nothing like this has happened to anyone here...

Tower Of Terror kills 'em all. The only down side, though, is waiting and waiting for the line to s-l-o-w-l-y move. On average, I had to wait around 40 minutes to finally go on the ride. The queue was enormous.

The Giant Drop is definitely an adrenalin rush. I love the feeling when your stomach feels like it is rising to your head.

The Lethal Weapon runs a close third.

How can you rate Giant drop behind Tower???? You only get speed as opposed to what you posted above.

1)GIANT DROP- Don't kid yourself Dan26 and others its the bees knees, the ducks guts.
2) Leathal Weapon- The feeling of hanging, being thrown around like a rag doll, and looking like taking your legs off = ++
3)Tower of Terror- Speed rush is good, take off is best.
4)Cyclone- Very good coaster. If you don't want a squeeling shakefest akin to the thunderbolt and mad mouse, then this is for you. Very new, very smooth. Pure thrill.
5)Terror CanionI/II- Good water slide ride. Dark, tricky

Honorable Mention
8 Lane Speed racer- Being able to race seven others and being scored on it is great. Its all about technique. Those pre teens had nothin' on me, all my bitches!

I've been to MovieWorld 6 times, Seaworld 5 times, Dreamworld 3 times and Disneyworld and Universal Stufios once each. I'm yet to progress past the Wild Wild West ride in terms of thrills.

Movieworld lost a little something I feel when they got rid of Young Einstein's gravity house.

Anyone ever visti Knott's Berry Farm in California? I went on a ride there called Montezuma's revenge

It is similar to the Tower of Terror, except when it starts off it goes through a loop. And when it goes up the steep incline (like the TOT) it then goes backwards through the loop.

The Lethal Weapon at MovieWorld is awesome because you cna;t see where the track is taking you.

Agree with the person about the Terror Canyon II at Wet 'n' Wild. I personally think the Twister was better though. You really feel as though you lose control, because you are flying down it so fast.

in no order

Lethal Weapon - Movie World
Cyclone - Dreamworld
Twister - wet n wild
Terror Canyon 1 and 2 - Wet n wild
Splash Mountain - Disneyland
Space Mountain - Disneyland
Zipper - Royal Melb Show/Moomba
The Hangover (Front seat) - The Royal Melb Show

There are a few of my favs

I have been to Knotts Berry Farm and Universal Studios but I didnt really go on any Thrill rides there

we went in july (dont ask why it was half way through the yr...) and the line wasn't all that long at all! i went a total of 6 times in 3 days, and i thought it was pretty good. :)

also the jurassic park ride in universal studios was mad! the whole is so nice and calm, and then there's a MASSIVE drop that kinda comes out of nowhere! its awsome!

I have become addicted to roller coasters since returning to the United States three years ago. I have ridden 163 different coasters in that time. Not bad for a geriatric 50 year old, eh?

My favourites :

1. Millennium Force* - Cedar Point, Ohio - 310 feet tall - 92mph
2. Superman Ride of Steel* - Six Flags New England - Massachusetts
3. The Legend# - Holiday World - Santa Claus, Indiana
4. Raging Bull* - Six Flags Great America - Chicago!
5. The Beast# - Paramount Kings Island - Ohio
6. Kraken* - Sea World - Orlando, Florida
7. Montu* - Busch Gardens - Tampa, Florida
8. Nitro* - Six Flags Great Adventure - New Jersey
9. The Incredible Hulk* - Islands of Adventure - Orlando, Florida
10. The Boss# - SixFlags St. Louis - Missouri

* = steel coaster
# = wooden coaster

My favourite park is Cedar Point in Ohio on the shore of Lake Erie.

I have ridden Raging Bull at my home park of Six Flags Great America over 200 times including the second last day of last season in Nov. 2002 when I rode it 40 times in one day! In 2002 I rode Raging Bull in the first seat, first row on the first ride of the first day of the season and also rode it in the last seat, last row on the last ride of the last day of the season!

Obsessed? Who, me?:D

I've been to Cedar Point and loved it.

Do they still have the Magnum? (I think thats what its called) I remember people trying to drag me up there but there was no chance.

I think I went on the Blue Streak ??? something like that. It wasn't that big but my sister almost threw up on me.

I was about to get on the corkscrew but I chicken out. And there was no way I was gonna get on the demon drop.

Yes, Magnum is still there and is still quite popular. I liked it, but it pales in comparison to Millennium Force. CP is building what will be the tallest roller coaster in the world, Top Thrill Dragster, which I hope to go on in May. I was going to send you the link to CP, but I see you've found it!

Blue Streak is still there. Very tame compared to some wooden coasters.

CP is now competing with Six Flags Magic Mountain in Los Angeles as the park with the most coasters. Cedar Point is far superior as a theme park to Magic Mountain IMO.

That reminds me of the Goliath, at Six flags magic mountain. When I was there last they were hyping up one called X, which was about to open. Supposed to be the worlds first 4th dimension roller coaster, with the actual carriage being able to rotate 360 degree while travelling along the track.

Giant Drop on the coast is by far the best there. Similar to the twilight zone tower of terror at MGM studios - disneyworld. The aerosmith ride there wasnt bad either. The Tower of Terror is/was a flop in regards to all infrustructure etc involved - thats from marketing staff I know at Dreamworld - Simply a $hit ride. Hence, they put a second ride on the tower, being the drop which is a very simple ride, but hugely popular.

For water rides - there is a goliath of a free fall at Blizzard Beach in Orlando - they reckon you get up to 60mph/100kph. Pretty cool ride I gotta say. Twister on the Gold Coast disoriantates the heck out of me - love it.

I haven't been to any theme parks except crappy ol Adventure World in Perth. Although one ride I'm addicted to is the Big Bounty. It's great.

Yeah I think thats about all you'll find in Ohio (other than corn fields). But we were staying with friends in Detroit Michigan and we just drove down for the day. From memory it was about a 2 hour drive from Detroit.

I'd love to go back there, but I doubt I'll get the chance.

Its a gorgeous park, beautiful views.

Pakistan Airways in the 80s. Barcelona to Majorca. Did you know you could re-close the cabin doors if they open at about 10000feet.Nice.

All flights in tropical climates when the upward thermals are aggro. Crikey!! The sky was angry that day my friend.
