Does everyone else know that Ticketmaster (Etihad games) sting us more money as AFL members, than what Ticketek (MCG games) do.

For a seat upgrade through Ticketek it costs $6.30 per ticket.. Fair enough.

But for a seat upgrade through Ticketmaster it costs $6.30 per ticket, then an additional $6.00 on the bill for handling, even though the tickets are getting sent to my email and I have to print them myself.
Ticketek dont charge the extra handling fee.. Its BS..

So how is it possible to get a reserved seat at etihad for only $6.30.. As far as I can see its impossible, because you cant avoid the extra $6.00 charge.. So in effect it cost $12.30 to get a seat as an AFL member..

I hate it how stadiums do the ticketing. I wish the sport did it.

Rather than the G being Ticketek and Docklands being Ticketmaster it would work if the AFL just had a agency so all it's games are done through one agency.

They can bid for it. The stadiums wouldn't be out of pocket as they get a set amount per ticket.

It's pretty easy to have 2 kinds of software on one hard drive so if the AFL went with Ticketmaster and the ACB went for Ticketek then the people at the window on matchday wouldn't have to change much.

It amazes me that the AFL let this happen.. They should make Ticketmaster fall in line or give the full ticketing to Ticketek..
General admission at both stadiums are the same, so I dont see why we pay extra for being an AFL member at Etihad..

That's why you've got to buy tickets with friends. Then you can split the extra $6.

Maybe, Ticketek is just awesome.

At the gate,
MCG General Admin is $1.30 more for Concession and Adult then Etihad.
Etihad is $5 cheaper for Gen Admin then AAMI Park.

Both MCG and AAMI Park are Ticketek

Wouldn't know, Subi are Ticketmaster.
I have a gripe about 'tek though, that when I bought tickets to Metallica at Burswood Dome here, the only option was to pay them $16 for postage, and thats with them holding them for 9 months so people can't scalp them.

So, in light of that, ticketmaster > ticketek.

i personally prefer ticketek for the sole reason it shows how many tickets are left in each part of the ground

This is a gripe of mine. Why do WE have to pay for printing the ticket when we are using our ink and our paper. It is absolute BS. By my reckoning, it should be cheaper purchasing a ticket online compared to at the gate, yet it is the other way around.

you get different companies handling the tickets because each venue would have agreements with said companies for handling bookings. you pay a fee regardless of delivery method/printing as its just a booking fee. they make money from processing payments on behalf of the venue.

if you dont like it, you really have no choice
